Was a convincing smashing of a team that is currently a top four side (hopefully bodes well for tonight!!!!). We just tore them apart and almost 400 blues traveled down to brum to watch the game, make loads of noise and help the cities pubs cope with the effects of the credit crunch.
Looking good for a clean sweep of all domestic competitions - second in the League with enough games in hand and winning record to go first. Win against local rivals Chester Jets at Greenbank on Friday and we are in the Trophy Semi Final (Yesterday was the Cup).
As for Europe, having spoken with lots of the people involved we clearly have European Ambitions - the British League gets allocated a place in Europe but many winners do not take it up due to the cost. The Salary Cap in our league is about 1/4 of a Mill - compared with some Euro League teams with budgets pushing the hundred mill mark.
My own guess is that being only 18 months old we may want to wait another season before heading in to Europe.
Great day yesterday and proud moment for us Evertonians - not quite on the 95 cup final level but for those of us who love the 'other beautiful game' as much as our football a memorable day.
Hopefully we will get to see the team with the cup this Friday at Greenbank and hopefully on the pitch at Goodison - make sure we give em a big Goodison Park roar when/if they do, every player gives everything for the crest on their shirts.
Now having spent yesterday tense and nervous (until it was all over by half time!!) I have to go through it all again for the Derby. Watching it on tele unfortunately but it does mean I can sing whatever songs I like without worrying about getting arrested
