We need to score first against this crowd of Harlem globe trotters and be really disciplined about conceding free kicks and corners needlessly.

Robles, Williams and FM need to show a hell of a lot more than last week.

If we score first, 3-0.

If they score first 1-1 or 0-1.

@Eggs @AndyC @allezlesbleus & others ...

Was sitting in the main stand in September '68. WBA had, of course, beaten us in a horrible match where Husband missed a sitter having taken the place of Youngy.

Two of my gods took centre stage and destroyed them. Bally scored 2 and then Harvey, in a moment of brilliance, took the ball from halfway in our half towards the Street End. He didn't score many, as you guys will know, but when he did, they were worldies. He baffled three or four of those midland grocks and smacked it in. Bally then scored fourth.

We didn't win the league that season but, my God, the togger was sublime. It was a golden afternoon in September.

...your memory never fails to amaze me, Matey. I was at the '68 final and I recall we stuffed the Baggies at The Hawthornes a few weeks before. I was probably at the match you mention, Harvey was brilliant, his shooting was erratic but he did score a few famous goals.

Let's have a reaction from the Spurs setback, and I'm going for a 2-0 win.

My mum (who was an education hound) forced me to keep a written log of all the matches I attended but that particular match seems to have burned itself on my mind. It just seemed that everything came together. Our midfield just shredded them and Harvey that day was some kind of blend between Xabi and Busquets.

I can actually 'see' his goal in my brain as I type this. Good God that bloke could play.

:mad:
Having to bump into tourist RS beauts in town over this weekend.

Most of them fly in a day before their game don't they.

I've managed to get a ticket for this one, bit of an afterthought but it's the day after my grandads funeral (tomorrow) and what better way to honour him. If anyone's up for a pint and I make it in good time then I'll join.
