I think that Jags, much as I admire him, is far too honest. Most Premiership players, felled by an elbow to the face like Jags was yesterday, would have rolled around the ground writhing in agony until the referee called for the police to arrest the opposition player. Not Jags though, gets up and gives his head a shake.

I made a joke earlier that we are just a poor Man City.

I think ultimately he wanted to play a similar way which deserves lols because our defence had other ideas (HOOF).

Giroud
Sigurdsson Klassen Rooney Bolasie
Schneiderlin
Baines Williams Keane Coleman
Pickford

Unfortunately no one actually watched Sigurdsson to realise although he may have lined up on the left he isn't a left sided winger and Baines is finished and needs protection.

Koeman kept going on about how the Attacking midfielders had to be more productive and I suspect they were bought mainly on stats because just looking at the team you would know it wouldn't work.

why do u want to play with a team that is upside down?

I think the scouting is fine (Dele Ali turned us down not the other way around). It's the executive branch that fails us on transfers imo.
Good to hear that. In fact if you consider that I suspect most of that team above are probably the Koeman players then Walsh hasn't done too bad with the rest.

Ultimately he allowed Koeman to control him rather than the other way around but that's what we get when we hire someone who effectively was a scout at his previous club.

A DoF should point out that we have no strikers though!

He's where I think Koeman has a proper beef with Walsh. It is pretty obvious we planned to line up with Sandro, Rooney, Giroud and DCL being our striking options.

Koeman binned Sandro pretty quickly and was probably mad as hell this was the striker Walsh found.

I think Walsh thought he had signed another Lukaku for next to nothing. 21 years old. Spain U23 international. Barca academym. 16 goals for a mid table team.

What was Lukaku.

21 years old. Backup Belgium international. Chelsea youth player. 17 goals for a mid table team.

That seems entirely plausible but it doesn't say much for us as a club that a risk on a young lad from Malaga was our whole plan if Giroud-type didn't sign.

Rooney and a young lad but I doubt it was "the club".

Koeman had spent 150m getting exactly the team he wanted. We played in pre-season and it clearly didn't work. We had no one to dribble past a man and no pace anywhere. This made us incredibly easy to play against. Effectively we had to score the perfect passing goal or at least pass far enough up the pitch to put us in a position to lump crosses into Giroud. Without pace in attack this is extremely difficult because teams would press us high due to our lack of pace and our defence can't cope with being pressed high so they hoofed and the whole thing looked a mess.

Would Giroud have changed that. A little but no enough and Koeman knew it. After that he looked like a man frantically trying to rip up the plan and try something new. I think he wanted to use Giroud as an excuse because there's no way a manager would start rejecting other CFs otherwise.

I could be wrong but that's what it looked to me although it would have been interesting to see the team I posted actually playing if Williams, Jags, Baines and Rooney weren't finished and Coleman and Bolasie were fit.

Yes and not only that, shakes his assailants hand once he got to his feet!
