I guess for all the "I told you so brigade" yesterday was a gift. A really poor performance against excellent opposition, who I think will challenge for the title. We won't and most of us knew this at the outset.

Some disappointing performances, no excuses. A really bad day.

Think this sums up yesterdays performance.

However, Spuds did not need to be class yesterday and they rarely got out of second gear. We were just simply woeful!
I do think Spurs will be up there again though. Despite previous moaning about lack of signings they've bought sensibly - Davinson and Llorente - without disturbing the nucleus of their side. They just need to come to terms with Wembley.

Spurs are a decent side, remind me of the 90's side of UTD, Ali reminds me of Scholes. They did nothing spectacular yesterday but we simply looked like a side who had never played together.

A shambolic, embarrassing 'professional' performance! It was like an under 10's side.

You can factor in certain things mate, but you don't need players to gel to show a bit of passion, put in a performance, have some movement around the pitch, and actually play some form of footy, they looked like they couldn't be arsed yesterday.

It was the same against Chelsea, the players looked defeated from the kick - off.
I didn't see the game, only the highlights on MotD, so I can't comment on the performance. I'm just stating an opinion of the facts as I see them.

I was at the game mate. With 15 minutes to go, and fans leaving tells you all about the performance. As soon as that first goal went in, heads dropped, even those around me were expecting the inevitable.

Some thoughts:
  1. Cuco Martina should never wear the royal blue again. Southampton fans laughed at us for buying him and stated he wouldn't even make their league one side. I would have Mitch Ward, Alec Cleland or Earl Barrett over him. Every team will target him. Potentially the worst player I have ever seen! (not an over-reaction).
  2. Schneiderlin is over-rated. Doesn't dictate play and is no-where near as good as Barry was in his first 2 seasons. Also lucky to only have 1 red this season. He is guaranteed to play every game as well.
  3. Gana Gueye looks lost in Koemans' 433 formation. In fact everyone does.
  4. Klassan will take time. At Ajax his late runs forward and one touch passing were great. He can't do this until he bonds with other players. He is very lost in our "system".
  5. Rooney - Doesn't fit anywere in a 433. Only position I see him playing is a 10 in a 4231.
  6. Sandro - just hasn't been involved. Not writing him off just yet.
  7. Pace. Everyone knows it, including the opposition.
  8. Morale - Niasse, Barkley, Mirallas, Robles. His treatment of players is a disgrace, particularly when he let Lukaku do what he wanted.
I wont say the managers name followed by "out" until at least Christmas, but this is not looking good. Someone is going to absolutely tank us and it could be Lukaku and Utd on Sunday
