Pickford MOM without a doubt. We looked better first half than second. Their penalty wasn't, the challenge was outside the box but he managed to dive in the right direction and far enough to convince the ref. The challenge on Tom Davies in the area was a foul, not a dive, and a penalty should have been awarded not a yellow card. Some of the movement was excellent, and the defence held firm for the most part, with a couple of close calls.

...I just hope my theory that a poor pre-season results in a good season rings true. I'm hoping this is a case of the Manager finding the right blend.

Pickford is allaying the fears I had, both him and Keane might be major purchases but they are also major improvements. It might be a case of the Manager stumbling on his best side, I suspect there are a couple of youngsters on the bench who are champing at the bit to force a way in.

Pickford MoM.
Think hes got to do some pretty fancy stumbling in the next 5days then.

Sevilla was very good indeed. Pickford was entirely too busy but has the look of confidence we have missed for ages.

Ref was horrible. Davies was fouled and their pen was a foul outside the box.

Definitely not possessing the ball or creating enough chances.

Pickford and Keane were great. Holgate isnt a full back like Besic isn't a CB. Kenny much better and needs to play.

Schneiderlin was poor. Klassen needs time. Davies was great. Sandro took his goal well but was starved for service. Happy to see DCL played thru the middle but we need a better option there. Rooney was alright.

Gueye was good but is so poor offensively. Not his job tho so its whatever. Martina looked good, definitely odd how he divides opinion so.

Lookman makes stuff happen. Play the kid.

If Morgan hasn't played his way out of the starting lineup come next weekend you'd be questioning RK.

Get that he's a gifted player etc, but he's been the worst of the central midfielders through pre season and Gana and Davies should deserve to start against Stoke given their better form.

Agreed entirely.
We have a squad, we need to utilize the squad not just jam players for the sakes of game time. Davies and Gana in central midfield with one of Kaassen or Rooney for me

I couldn't quite pick it out on the highlights, but who was it who played the through ball to Sandro for his goal? That pass was exquisite!

Davies. Brilliant through ball for the goal, always getting forward and trying things, lovely link up play oozes class.

Pickford second and Sandro third. Keane was Keane and Sandro was much better on the wing running everywhere. Dcl was excellent and needs to be played as the striker until we get one.

Except for the assist , i thought davies had a really bad game
