It benefits Everton financially. Sending deadwood and a load of U23's is an easy way to fulfill the terms of the sponsorship deal, raise the clubs profile in Africa and is probably scheduled in a way that doesn't really affect actual first team preparations.

We dont have a squad sadly, most of our better players are still on holiday due to International commitments.

It gives the players here a run out and hopefully a chance for a few yoots to stake a claim.
