You may be on to something. The shorter Barkley wore his hair the better he was. When it was practically shaved, he bossed the midfield.can someone just cut davies hair
maybe it's the opposite effect to when samson lost his strength, maybe after he cuts it he will magically have the ability to play football and string a pass
So by that logic you consider richarlison to be part of the u23s
Should be able to beat this lot surely - kamikaze lineup!
I didn’t say the official U23 squads did I mate?
Just said we potentially have 5 players under 23 starting on Sunday.
Rate Pickford far above Fabianski though. also our defenders are more proven. If they can keep their heads they should do pretty well.We can definetly get at their back line. That said, they could say the same about ours. Both are untested in the grand scheme of things. Most importantly, we'll need to control the centre of midfield through targetting Noble and then rely on our front three being more clinical than theirs.
There was a sense of hope at Finch Farm on Friday that Everton may have seen off the worst of their injury problems. But there remains no greater healer than time and as Marco Silva took his first full session for two weeks, he was still looking out at a depleted squad.
And with the clock ticking down to kick-off on Sunday.
Theo Walcott and Idrissa Gueye are in contention for the visit of West Ham, Bernard will be considered, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit despite a scare in midweek while Yerry Mina trained with the rest of the players for the first time since he signed.
There was also the welcome sight of James McCarthy back with the squad as he steps up his return from the double leg break he suffered in January.
Yet Silva suspects the game may come too soon for Mina, he remains without Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes while Richarlison is still banned.
Silva will work with his players again today at the club's Halewood training complex before making late calls ahead of Sunday's game at Goodison but the Everton boss insists he will not use a weakened squad, and little time to prepare them, as any excuse.
He is not interested in looking for them either.
Instead, he and his technical staff, led by assistant Joao Pedro Sousa, are leaning on their years of experience to hatch a game-plan to heap more misery on the rock-bottom Hammers, and maintain Everton's unbeaten start to the season.
Silva has hinted at a change in formation to bring the best out of a squad that is nursing injuries.
"In some moments, of course," he said.
"In some moments you have to think, be creative, to prepare the situation well.
"It is not a new situation for you and the club, the position Dominic played in the last game, is not something new to him but if I have everyone fit I approach the game thinking about him in the other position.
"He is a good example of one moment.
"In other situations, we can change the formation as well, and we have to be creative.
"I will have to be."
"On Thursday, some of the players only did recovery sessions because they played on Tuesday night," he added.
"Of course, Friday was the first time we all worked together and we will do the same today as well.
"It is not the best scenario but it is the scenario we have and it is no surprise to us.
"We are working in a big club with a big number of players playing in their national teams, which is a good thing, and we have to find a solution to prepare for the game.
"It is not an excuse for us because we have just two or three days, this is the schedule, it is the international schedule as well and you have to work with that."
Mina was part of his first full-squad session on Friday but Silva says he won't start but may, if all goes well today, make the bench.
Yet while there remain doubts over the Colombian, Tyias Browning continues to train with the first-team and was joined yesterday by Nathangelo Markelo, the Dutch teenager signed by Everton in the summer of 2017.
His long-term future is in central midfield, but Markelo spent most of last season at right-back and has already deputised there this season for David Unsworth's side.
And given that Jonjoe Kenny will start in Coleman's absence, there could be a space on the bench for Markelo.
"We will see," Silva said, on the prospect of him being named in the squad.
"In the last match, I had Browning on the bench.
"We have just 17 players in the squad list and so I called Browning. It could happen. We have more than 20 players working in the under-23s and if I need them they are there to play and help the team."
West Ham head to Merseyside without a point from their opening four games of the league season.
But where Silva saw his side frustrated by an unambitious Huddersfield before the international break, he doesn't believe Manuel Pellegrini will instruct his team to be as defensive - despite their early season struggles.
"For me, it doesn't look like they will come here in the same way," he said.
"Huddersfield changed from their earlier games but what I'm analysing about West Ham and what their coach is saying, he is wanting to build something important there.
"He wants to see West Ham playing as a big team and I don't see that changing even though it could change - I could change our strategy as well.
"If something happens then we have to be ready to approach the game differently in some moments."
Everton's injury woes are easing but Silva still knows he has to adapt this weekend.
