Because the supporters play a part in influencing the team too?
The supporters react to what's going on on the pitch. It's not like everyone turned up booing from minute one against Watford this season. The team's been crap so the supporters are fed up. The teams form has nothing to do with the supporters.

Ironically west broms annoying tactics were pretty much what we played for years under moyes and we were fine with that.

The only bad thing from today was the subs, the team did everything we could have asked and kept at them. If two of the subs were attack minded rather than kone and osman then we may have forced the goals but overall, the team had 31 attempts!
Genuine question: did we ever start running down the question after 20 minutes? Could not believe how systematically they did that. Awful awful team

The crowd know better than the manager?

They think they do and that's an underlying problem with playing at Goodison these past two seasons.

Taking off our most dangerous player was a bizarre decision, and the crowd were already upset at Kone's efforts since his prior introduction. It's not like Martinez has been particularly impressive in his management at home. It was obvious that the anger was directed at the manager's decision rather than the players and in particular gerry so I thought it was fair.

I have a problem with getting on player's backs during the game, but none with showing frustration towards the manager.

That same Watford game I was at and the fans actually booed Kone coming on until he turned the game for us mate?

The results at Goodison are solely because of but certainly are not helped by the home crowd. It's a toxic environment and they too have to consider their part.

How do you think Kone felt coming on to boos mate?

Also while you're there tell me Lennon's "dangerous" contribution to the second half. He'd been virtually anonymous since half time.

That Kone incident was wrong but as I said it wasn't like people just turned up booing from minute one. It was frustration from being 2-1 down to a newly promoted team at home on the first day of the season. It was the crowd reacting to us playing crap.

You're right mate it wasn't from minute one. I noted on my watch the first groans and frustration came in the seventh minute.

The crowd help create nervousness in the players. It's plain to see.

Kone came on for cleverley did he not? Not much booing I didn't think. It's not ideal obviously that Gerry may have thought it was aimed at him but from my own personal viewpoint, I thought it was obviously directed at Roberto. In fact the crowd stuck relatively well behind the team today.

Lennon had the beating of his fullback all day and was standing the ball up well to the back post and whilst he wasn't maybe just quite as electric as first half, was still someone I'd rather have had on the field. No issue with Gerry coming on, I'd just have preferred to have two wingers on the field rather than kone.

Booing individual players is strange and the barkley booing infuriates me. Howard is only one I can kind of understand due to him acting like a tit. Kone just isn't good enough and I blame the manager not him.
