Thats a fair assessment. I am not going to [Poor language removed] Coleman off for either goal today, but what I will be critical of him and Walcott was the carelessness in possession in an awful spell after half time.

There was one incident, where Coleman could move forward with the ball, he's about 35 into our half, or play the ball forward. He turns back and play a bit of a hospital ball back to Pickford/Keane (who I have to say don't deal with it well). Things like that in football give the opposition a massive boost.

Likewise in the lead up to their goal, Walcott is trying stupid flicks and gives the ball away. He should have more game knowledge to know, having been on the back foot for 20 minutes you protect the ball there. You get a throw on, or a free kick or clip a ball down the line and get out. It's not the time for a silly flick.

The one positive (which is hard to take post the derby) is that there is a very clear divide (minus a couple of players such as Pickford) between the players we signed in the summer and the players who were here before. Maybe it's an extraordinary lucky window, or more likely the fella Brands knows what he's doing. More players will be needed.

The fortunate thing is, many of the players we are discussing moving on are no longer the Mirallas/Williams/Martina level where you can't give them away. They are decent PL players and we should get reasonable fees for them which can be reinvested, I think in the medium term we will see that.

I don't want to write lads off and I don't see much point in a fire sale in January. People should be given the benefit of the doubt, but you are probably right on the list. I suspect a lot of these las may go come the summer. It's sad, but I think Brands has shown enough for us to know he can find replacements for reasonable fees, so I can see that being the way it will go.

I also think Lookman may go in January. The link to Bernard is fair, but Bernard is much more consistent in his play and much better defensively. If we can get £20+ million for Lookman (which I suspect we will) it might be sensible to take the cash in January.
Good post mate. The right-hand side needs sorting as priority in the summer for me, although a top striker is also a given like.

So frustrating, should be getting 6pts from Newcastle and Watford at home but its typical Everton..

Also why do we score then decide to just not do anything, its like they go oh we've scored thats it just stop playing now, it does my head in.. go one up and go at them and grab a second goal

I can understand lads voting for Digne because of the goal but was he really our best player tonight
Himself and Bernard were at fault for one of their goals and in fact both goals came down our left hand side

It was a horrible performance. Nothing to like whatsoever. We didn't deserve anything but somehow got a point.

It's hard to see any wins in our next 4. We're a midtable club. We are bad in both boxes. The manager is learning. The players are learning. There's lots of mistakes. I was disgusted watching that second half but I need to be realistic too. The culture at the club is still abysmal.

Turgid second half display... At least we have quality to dig a result out, but against Watford, its just not good enough. No intensity and pedestrian for long periods. As others got away with that display. Only got City next!

Essentially a poor team performance but he scored the goal so that stands out from the rest. Being MoM in a game like this doesn't mean much.

As I said prior to the game. It’s baby steps. People talking about ‘huge strides’ and ‘night and day’ need to face the fact that it clearly isn’t. We may kick on but we haven’t yet. That was laboured and hard work. Somebody has flicked the ‘flowing football’ switch to barely on. Massive work to do.

Boa constricted us tonight.

They all look absolutely knackered. Barring Mina.

Coleman
Digne
Gomes
Gana
Siggy
Richarlison
Walcott
Bernard

All haven’t had a proper rest by the looks of things it’s no excuse like - but some rotation is seriously needed.

I can see us getting burnt out with all this pressing and lack of depth. I wonder if that's what happened to Watford in the second half of the season last year as opposed to silva having his head turned. I think the Derby took a lot out of us. Watford have got a couple of real quality players but we should be beating them. Walcott is frustrating. I don't see anything in lookman. Coleman has struggled since his injury. Gomes, Digne and Mina look real quality as does richarlison all brought in by the new regime, patience required.

We were lucky to get a point, now we have 24 points from 16 games, and we are 7th still need 16 points to be safe 5 wins and a draw from the remaining 22 games. We are only 2 points ahead of Wolves in 10th and go to Man City next, so I fully expect us to be 10th and we may only be ahead of West Ham and Watford on goal difference.

I think more options up top are needed in January, but this last 2 games have been terrible, teams that finish top 6 will beat the likes of Newcastle and Watford at home

Watford are like one of those streaky Pardew Newcastle teams. Random guys in from all over who have pace and some muscle, but who knows how often any of them will turn up and play. If they’re up for it they’re really good, it just doesn’t happen very often.
