Haha weird.. thought they were our best players personally. The best of a bad bunch in that second half anyway.
Yeah, wouldn't disagree with you mate. They where all bad tonight but thought Gomez had his worst game for us. As for Mina, he just hasn't convinced me yet that he's that good he can take us to the next level.

Pathetic.

Silva looked like he didn't have a clue what to do either.

First serious mark against him.
Was going to post something similar. Silva should have changed it before they scored. They were so much on top it was only a matter of time before they scored. Silva should have been pro-active and changed the personnel and system before they scored rather then reacting when we went behind.

Apart from Lookman the bench was depressingly poor.

I guess that’s why Silva didn’t make any changes. He didn’t have many options.

Too much wetness in here.
Yes we didn't play well, but Watford were bad for giving away a pen and letting us get all over them at the end.
We got lucky with our first, they got lucky with their first.
We were far off the pace in the second half and subs were late but the draw is fair. Enough of this "we didn't deserve anything". We were poor but still didn't deserve to lose. This team can play much, much better than tonight though.

last 3 goals we have conceded have been crosses

newcastle goal came down coleman's side

watfords goals came down digne's side

we clearly have a a problem defending crosses at the minute

do we try 3 at the back and change formation?

Watford were hands down the better side. And robbed by the ref.

Really poor from the lads.

Voted for Digne - great to see him step up like that.
Nah. Friend was just awful it didn't benefit anyone. The entire first half Richarlison got mauled with no calls coming our way. Obviously the offside goal was bad but they caught us out for the second with a quick free kick and the reason we weren't ready is because it was a blatant dive. Success drew about 4 or 5 fouls and I think only the one by Gomes actually was one. It's just the standard in this league now no one has any right to complain because they'll get their share of awful decisions.

Pickford - 4 - made some ok saves but his distribution was Sunday league and so was his command of the box
Coleman - 1 - good grief
Keane - 4 - meh
Mina - 5 - better of the 2
Digne - 7 some great balls and the free kick was a peach
Gueye - 2 - a good old fashion “I haven’t a clue what to do so I’ll run round a lot”
Gomes 9 - loses a point for a misplaced pass. Still a god, and beautiful
Walcott - 3 - has the composure of Barn Door Barlow.
Bernard 5 - some nice little one touch flicks got us away but still off the pace. Baller though
Gylfi - -10 - sigh
Richarlison - 7 - scored and got the crap kicked out of him for the best part of the game

Lookman - 2 - the myth continues
Other subs not arsed

Thats a fair assessment. I am not going to [Poor language removed] Coleman off for either goal today, but what I will be critical of him and Walcott was the carelessness in possession in an awful spell after half time.

There was one incident, where Coleman could move forward with the ball, he's about 35 into our half, or play the ball forward. He turns back and play a bit of a hospital ball back to Pickford/Keane (who I have to say don't deal with it well). Things like that in football give the opposition a massive boost.

Likewise in the lead up to their goal, Walcott is trying stupid flicks and gives the ball away. He should have more game knowledge to know, having been on the back foot for 20 minutes you protect the ball there. You get a throw on, or a free kick or clip a ball down the line and get out. It's not the time for a silly flick.

The one positive (which is hard to take post the derby) is that there is a very clear divide (minus a couple of players such as Pickford) between the players we signed in the summer and the players who were here before. Maybe it's an extraordinary lucky window, or more likely the fella Brands knows what he's doing. More players will be needed.

The fortunate thing is, many of the players we are discussing moving on are no longer the Mirallas/Williams/Martina level where you can't give them away. They are decent PL players and we should get reasonable fees for them which can be reinvested, I think in the medium term we will see that.

I don't want to write lads off and I don't see much point in a fire sale in January. People should be given the benefit of the doubt, but you are probably right on the list. I suspect a lot of these las may go come the summer. It's sad, but I think Brands has shown enough for us to know he can find replacements for reasonable fees, so I can see that being the way it will go.

I also think Lookman may go in January. The link to Bernard is fair, but Bernard is much more consistent in his play and much better defensively. If we can get £20+ million for Lookman (which I suspect we will) it might be sensible to take the cash in January.
Would much rather sell Walcott than Lookman.
