Taking my 5 year old today for his first match. ease him into a life of misery with a nice low key match

I reckon we'll see a difference today. They've had a full weeks training with appropriate rest.

If not I'll be instructing the boy to lash haribo at them from the 8th row of the paddock.

Tbf he was quite a good luck charm during the World Cup (not that im that arsed about England). Although he went to bed at half time in the semi!!!

It'd be nice to win a pre-season practice match against decent opposition convincingly - I don't remember when that last happened.

I sometimes refer to ESPN's football show but no one ever responds. Maybe it isn't shown in Britain, which would be surprising given the largely British pundit panel and Premier League discussion. Anyway, they've been putting up the odds about top four finishes in England and put up seven clubs. Arsenal are 6th at about 3/1 and they have Everton at 20/1.

They also put up the odds about the Spanish league and nominate the usual three and then Valencia 4th at long odds.

I think they must be taking the piss, but maybe they think we are the best of the outsiders in our respective leagues. Probably not in our case. I don't know about Valencia.

..I think the performance is more important than the result if i’m honest. The performances pre-season are a concern. I don’t mind losing friendly’s as long as there are good signs. I’m not really seeing good signs. I think it’s clear Silva still wants to strengthen in key areas.
