One moment of stupidness turns an easy home game into an extremely difficult rescue mission. One moment of almost-disrespectful-overconfidence.

Firstly, Howard should've been aware of the danger of the pass to Osman with the Korean baring down, secondly, Osman's amateurish control, and thirdly, Howard's crap decision-making instead of just standing his ground and inviting the shot.

That there was no contact doesn't even matter, was always gonna be a pen and red card. So 70 minutes playing with one man down, and one goal down, with an inexperienced keeper. At home with an impressive unbeaten record under pressure, and knowing our rivals keep picking up 3 points.

The second half will tell us a lot about our innate ability and character.

COYB!!

(ps - what the frak was that with Mirallas going off?)

Barkley on 2nd half to run himself into the ground chasing this, when the whole idea of leaving him out was to rest him.

An absolutely clueless decision by Roberto.

You DONT drop Barkley for Osman: Palace and now this unfolding ****ing disaster story.

Why did Bob start Osman? Barkley should start all day fckn long. Crazy.

Remind me when Ross is sposed to get a rest again?

We can all see we've been last here, but if Roberto is a good as we suspect - he can still dig us out of the sh*tter. 10 men or not. This lot are bottom of the league after all.

Always play the best team....get 2 goals up at half time then slowly make changes.....common sense.

Osman should be on the bench, old head for the last 20mins when needed.
Who the [Poor language removed] should he play then?

Which one of our 0 other midfielders could have he played there, other than Osman? He cocked up, but "always plays the strongest team" in this case involved Osman, as we have no other options. December fixtures come in fast and one after the other and you can't use the same 11 players every fecking week can you?

Think a bit people, ffs.

Anyway - can we not please lose to Sunderland? The gf's dad supports them and thinks they'll actually beat us and believes that his team's actually decent... Can we not, if we [Poor language removed] up, [Poor language removed] up the next one, as I don't care about the other crap team we're facing...

Worst i've seen us play this season by far. And tbd, i had no problem with Osman starting, gives Barkley a chance to come on and be our impact sub - or it would've done had Ozzy not cocked up. He drifts back too much when it should be Barry playing that sweeper role.

Frustrating as hell. I'd actually go 3 at the back (push Barry back) and pack the midfield to give Lukaku some support. Either take Oviedo off and bring Barkley on or leave Oviedo off and drop Pienaar alongside McCarthy. Time to show what we're made of now

I agree. Cannot for the life of me think why Osman got a start over Barkley with his current form. There is slight whiff of arrogance and underestimating S'land on Martinez's part here.

1. Barkley is a booking away from a suspension.
2. We need to keep his feet on the ground and he's had some rave reviews this week.
3. If Osman was enough to defeat Sunderland then we'd be saving Barkley, if not we have Ross as a game-changing option from the bench.
4. We're trying to rotate the squad to keep competition for places and performance levels high.

Exactly after palace why couldn't he see what we all saw? He decieves every ****ing manager we have osman with his solid pro local lad reputation
