I want him to start every game, but he's a 20 year old in his first full season of top flight football. He can't play every game and it's sensible to give him a rest from time to time. Dare I say a home game against the bottom team is probably the best time?

I'd get the game under control by starting Barkley and get a goal or two up before bringing him off asap.
Good to have people ready to come straight in though. Only way to do that is if they play regularly. You never know whats round the corner; injuries, red cards etc. Plus, bit of competition for places keeps people honest and those on the fringes feel they're in with a shout.

Fair point like. Though Ossie is still well involved, so if it was all about that he should be drafting in the likes of Stones.

The Catalan wizard will get it right though. IMzWT

Mirallas should of been benched, suppose with only Naismith to replace a bit hard tho. At 31/32 whatever he is, would of thought pienaar could of been rested, although again no one really to replace him! Squads looking a bit thin in certain areas now.

Pienaar's in great form, tbf.

Good move, let the kickers get a few warnings or yellows before we bring the lad on.......

TBF, it is Sunderland at home. But I wouldn't want to see RB left out for Osman too many more times. It is a massive boost to the opposition seeing Barkley on the bench.

I agree mate. Players can shuffle but it's not ideal.

I really hope Martinez does some business in the window.

A bit surprised Baines not picked. Thought he should start as left back, Oviedo left midfield and rested Mirallas who was not at his best at Swansea.

COYB!!

Manch u was lucky against Hull. Have to say.
