Because we’re worth it.

Extra time and pens.

It could still be going until midnight!

:bye:
I like conceding early in the FA cup against lower league sides. It turns it from a book g expected result into something that carrys the excitement of a premier league game.

Save the colombian egg-timer sand and escorts for Saturday lad. Then you can watch Conor McGregor afterwards.

'We haven't come to take part. We've come to sniff Hoover.'

Connor is gonna win lol

But I've been thinking so much about Everton that I had a dream last night

We won 2 0
James 2 assist to Richy and Iwobi

lol

SOME OF THE ANCELOTTI PRE MATCH SHEFF WED P/C

Ancelotti on squad shape

It was a good time [to rest]. It's true that we didn't have a game.
We used this time to put in better condition the players who had problems before.

Injury updates from the boss

Ancelotti says Calvert-Lewin is fit again.
Gbamin, Allan, Delph, Digne, Iwobi and Nkounkou out

Carlo on Sheff Wed

They're a good team. It's true they've had a problem with the virus, but I think they'll come back with a strong motivation.
It's a big challenge to play against us, we know this and we've got to respect this.

Gbamin latest from the boss

I think that we have to look at him day by day. He’s following his individual problem like Allan and Delph.
We don’t want to put pressure on him because he has been out for a loan time. When he comes back he needs to be ready. He will come back.

Ancelotti on transfer plans

We really don't focus on this. I think we are convinced we have a good squad & if a player doesn't ask to leave,
we have a good squad for all the season

Will DCL play on Sunday

On Calvert-Lewin: "Honestly I want to put out the best line-up possible for the game against Sheffield.
We don't want to think about Leicester, we want to move on in this competition.
I think Dominic can start, he trained well and is in a good physical condition.

Ancelotti on midfield options

"Tom Davies, the games that he played, did really well. Doucoure is always well even though he is suspended against Leicester.
Fortunately we are not going to play in Europe so we can manage the season well with this squad

Ancelotti on rest for his squad

I don't know really [whether it's good or bad], I will tell you after the game on Sunday! I spent time watching games,
I have to say that I saw a lot of entertaining games. The PL is showing fantastic games, and unpredictable games

Ancelotti on Burnley beating Liverpool

I was pleased to watch the game and how Burnley competed. This is the beauty of football. Liverpool, in this moment are not in a good moment,
but they will be back soon.

Confirmation on Iwobi and Digne

On Iwobi and Digne: I cannot be so specific, but they will be available for the game against Leicester.

Message to squad over FA Cup

The FA Cup is an important competition, to reach the final or the semi-final we have to go step by step.
We hope to have less difficulty for this game. We do not want to be the negative surprise

Ancelotti on Tosun's future

I didn’t talk to him about this, he’s part of the squad. He scored a goal against Rotherham,
he did his job when he was involved so no news on this.

Ancelotti is asked about European super league idea

This is politics, that's all. I read this on the newspaper. What can I say, I am the other part of football. And I think the nicest part of football.
I don't want to be involved in the politics of football. That is not my job

Ancelotti on title talk

Honestly we don’t have in ours minds the title race, we have in mine to fight for the European position.
We are in a good position and we want to stay in a good position.
To talk about the title race is too much honestly

Ancelotti on the quality in the Premier League

The level: physical, tactical, technical is really high in my opinion. I watch games all the time on TV. It is really exciting.
I think it's more exciting because the Premier League's level improved. There are a lot of really competitive teams.
If you see the table at the top, there's a lot who aren't used to staying there like West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton also.
The only problem is missing the supporters at the stadium. Quality, atmosphere, intensity of the games, I think is at top level.

James Rodriguez latest

Will we see him in both of the next games? It's possible says Carlo...
James is in good condition. He can play against Sheffield and he can play against Leicester.
He has no physical problem in this moment."

The team will basically pick itself now from the injuries/unavailability

Olsen
Coleman Keane Mina Godfrey
Davies Doucoure
James Sigurdsson Gordon
Richarlison

Main question marks will be Davies or Gomes and Coleman or Holgate. I expect Coleman to play this one and Holgate against Leicester.

I expect DCL to be a sub but get some minutes.

I think he'll leave some of the big guns on the bench. Don't think this is going to be Wednesdays priority and both teams have a game on Tuesday.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Tosun and Gordon both start again. Probably Bernard too.

Some of the Interim Sheffield Wednesday boss Neil Thompson's P/C

How much are you looking forward to the Everton tie

We have had a little bit of time of where we have not played so everyone is chomping at the bit to get going and Everton is a great challenge for us.
They are a Premier League team and everyone is looking forward to it.

Where does the FA Cup rank in terms of importance for the club this season

It ranks high in terms of importance because it’s the next game. Every game is important to what we are doing.
We have got big games coming up in the Championship and this is a diversion from it but I’m a great believer in getting a result and creating momentum.

Is there a possibility Andre Green could start

Andre has come in and he has trained really well this week. He is certainly in the frame. He has shown a good attitude. I like what I have seen.
Him amongst others will be looking to get involved this weekend.

How confident are you that the team can climb away from the relegation zone

That's our challenge. That's our job. That's what we are there to do.
We had a good little run prior to our enforced break and we have got to kick on from that but we are under no illusions that we have got a really tough three and a half months ahead. We are aiming to give that trust and confidence in the players.

We know the players are more than capable.
The Championship is one of the most difficult leagues to play in and I think that bears out when you see the results. We have had some good performances. We played really well at Norwich and got beaten at the end.
We know when we’re at it and performing well that we can compete. We’ll go into every game with that attitude.

How much are you looking forward to pitting your wits against Carlo Ancelotti

Obviously, going to Goodison Park is a fantastic challenge for everybody, not just me but the players and the club. It’s a great opportunity to pit your wits against one of the top managers in world football.
But I haven’t given it too much thought. I have been concentrating on preparing the players and trying to get some football back in their legs and trying to get them in the right frame of mind to go and play the game.

We’ve got to go and enjoy it. It's an occasion that we have not got to be worried about. We have to go and play on the front foot if we can. We know it is going to be a real challenge with the quality they have got, whatever team they put out.

How do you see your position? Would you like the opportunity to make the caretaker job more permanent

I have been at the football club a long time. Whether a new manager comes in or not, I am quite relaxed about it.
My job at this moment in time is I have been asked to prepare the team for games and that's what I'm doing. I'm not putting myself under any pressure thinking 'I've got to do this and I've got to do that.'
Ultimately, whatever position you're in at the club, you give everything that you have got to get the best results that you possibly can.
In terms of the management position, whatever comes comes.

What are your aims for the rest of the season

We are aiming to win as many matches as we possibly can. We have got a big task between now and the end of the season with the amount of games that we have got coming up with the position we are in.

It's not all a bed of roses when you are in football whether you are a manager, coach, caretaker manager or player. There are always challenges there and that's why we are in the game.

You've got to challenge yourself and meet the challenge head on whether I'm in charge or not. We have got to be positive and we know that we have got to get results between now and the end of the season.

Team news wise, how are Luongo, Borner, Dunkley and Westwood coming along

Obviously we’ve had injury issues with them, but they’re coming along nicely and we’ll obviously check on them tomorrow in terms of their availability for Sunday. But they are progressing.

We’ve had a couple of them back on the training pitch, which is nice, but we’ve got a lot of games coming up so we have to make sure it’s the right time if we’re going to put them back in.

Are they all injury free

No, not all of them.

Do you have any other fitness concerns in the squad

There are a couple but I'm not going to give anything away in terms of that. We have had a good training session this morning. One or two who have had issues have been involved in that and we will see how they are in the morning before making a decision for the game on Sunday.

How limited has training been in the last few weeks due to Covid restrictions?

Obviously it was very restrictive early on in terms of what we could do but the players have come back in and we have had a really good week's training this week. I have had a great response from the players and coaching staff in terms of their attitude. We have tried to get everyone together and get everyone in the best possible condition that we can.

Is there anything in reports linking the club with Sam Hutchinson

I’ve been involved in some discussions, but in terms of transfers and naming individuals it would be amiss of me to do that at this stage.
If we do make any more signings, I'm sure you will be the first to know.

Is there anything close with signings

There are a couple of weeks left in the transfer window. In terms of players coming in, hopefully we might be able to get one or two in next week but we will wait and see.

Have you been given any timescale on when a decision will be made on the managerial appointment?

I’ve not been given anything in terms of a timescale. I have spoken to people at the club in terms of the team and the squad.
I’m pretty relaxed about it. It’s football and I’ve been in it long enough not to worry about stuff like that. Whatever happens happens. The staff and I are concentrating our efforts on preparing the team for what lies ahead.
It’s going to be a tough three and a half months.

How do you hurt Everton?

You just have to trust yourselves. The players have to play on the front foot.
We don't know what sort of team Everton will put out but that is irrelevant. It is about us. We know it is going to be a tough game.
We are not naive enough to think that we can play really open football. You can't or you will get picked off but that's not to say we can't be positive and play forward when we need to do.
The group of players I will put out there will be in that frame of mind.

Do you look at how Rotherham played against Everton in the last round?

The analysis guys have put stuff together and we’ve looked at that. We’ll go into the nitty-gritty of that tomorrow in terms of our shape and set plays.
But at the end of the day, whoever the players are, if someone beats you, you want it to be because they’re better than you, not because they’ve worked harder than you. If we work our socks off, we will stand a chance.
It is a really good game for us to look forward to.
It is up to them what they do but we have got to expect that they will play their strongest team. If they do, we have got to be ready for it. If they don't, you have still got to have the same positive attitude.
There will be quality whatever team they put out on the pitch and we have got to be ready for that.
