Well perhaps, but our issue with Coleman is that when he plays as just an out-and-out right-back he's very ineffective. Part of that is not being able to control the ball in midfield, but him playing as a wing-back/right-mid, gets him 10/15 yards further upfield.

The formation is also covering Carlo's lack of trust in the centre backs and wingers at his disposal.

James, Allan and Doucoure have each walked right back into the starting 11 because nobody else in the squad has shown up for months and given Carlo a selection headache.
