Just got in and well, that match was complete bollocks. We all know Vaughan can jump and can flick the ball on, so why did we get so preoccupied with doing it, he has got feet let him use them. Gravesen, get rid, I know we are short of midfielders, but all he is possibly useful for is making a time wasting substitution in the 92nd minute. he's a Headless chicken and struggles when his teammates around him raise the tempo, he cant think quick enough, slows the game down too much and his passing nothing short of woefull. Faddy wasnt bad, but he wasnt good either, played out wide, but we would have benefited from him being closer to vaughan when he was flicking the ball on but was he was told to stay wide - I saw moyes gesturing width to him in the first half - mediocre I think sums him up.

All I can use to console myself is that we have one hell of a big game against chelsea midweek and that this game hasnt damaged our league position. I'm really clutching at straws and saying the scheduled Fa cup weekends may just give our boys rest as we push towards securing a euro spot for next season.

The team on paper looked OK, certainly good enough to see off Oldham, but we had a few non performers today and it showed in the result. We could of been up at half time but werent, and Kudos to Oldham they wanted it more and their fans were terrific.

I would have thought stubbs and perhaps carsley should have stepped up. Did gravesen play up today? I was at work -Think I read about an argument between him and carsley?

In a way Ghost is right, we should have won but did not so we have to move on. Also Chico is right this is not the way for a manager to treat fans with the team he selected, a lot of very young fans will have gone to that match and with results like that the club is in danger of losing them. And to TX Bill, so not a big deal to him but there are many fans who were actually at the game including aforesaid young ones and it was a big deal to them. They have played a lot of money to see their team turn in a medirocre display, some crap performances like that has been Gravesen, and finally to see them lose to who, Oldham FFS.

I am not moaning about the result, it was always going to be a banana skinn but Ghost is right every game should be treated the same way, they are all important.

I dont think Moyes put a foot wrong. We have to prioritize some stuff and look at the situation. Today we were up against a league 1 side. I think our side today should have ripped Oldham just like we beat AZ with almost the same side, in fact at AZ we played Vidarrson and Rodwell.

On Tuesday we have a game against one of the best sides in Europe and they are in the way of us playing a grand final to win a trophy for the first time in about 12 years. Our best players should be in mint condition for that match and resting them to allow other players who have performed well recently to step in and win a game against a side 2 divisions below us. I dont think Moyes should be taking any blame, the players have to perform.

The people I feel for today are the fans who took their kids and spent a small bomb watching the match. We will get over it though, this has shown that although our squad is sound were still not as a strong as what we would like to think, we harded tested Crossley in goal.

We might be spending some money, or more likely getting some loan deals.

yes, me too, I got chatting with a woman a few seats along who had brought her three kids for their first match alltogether.
They were SO excited, she could hardly keep hold of them. The kick off delay didnt help much but she was saying that they all want to come to the match but she can only afford to come to games where there's some sort of discount. I'm sure there were others in her situation.

In terms of the match, well, I can't add to what's been said. We lost, we played badly and Oldham deserved their win. I didnt hear what DM said to annoy everyone so can't comment.

My final rant is for the absoloute tosser who sits in Row D, LGS who dd nothing but shout abuse at the players, particularly McFadden and Wessels. His every other sentence was 'Everton, you're [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed]'

He was getting on my tits big style. At the end of the first half he started the booing so I stood up (all 5' 3" of me) and told him to get behind his team and stop booing. I was shaking like a leaf but I'm glad I did it.
I know everyone pays their money and is entitled to an opinion but he's like this every match, we can never do anything right. I'm seriously considering moving seats next season this bloke is such a wally.

I was mighty pissed off last night because we played so badly and looked like a team that had no soul and had lost its way but I never, ever **** the lads off when they're playing - I'm an EVERTON SUPPORTER on bad days and good days.

I can understand as I said on another post in response to people who said they could not give a toss about the FA Cup what of fans who have paid good money and taken their kids. This is the way to lose tomorrow's fans.

Pride and Glory

If any of you have seen the photos of Andy Gray and Big Nev holding the FA Cup aloft,,,,, look at their faces and then tell me it doesn't matter........ of course it matters.

PS: did anyone see Big Nev in the Park End??
