Great pass by Oviedo to set Naismith through on goal, defender chasing him, Jelavic free on the far side... gets just into the box, all Naismith has to do it roll it on the ground, instead he fluff a far high cross and it goes out for a goal kick

Naismith should have found Jelavic then.

That's EXACTLY what Barkley doesn't do - or hasn't done in the past - find the simple pass. He constantly tried to do the flashy stuff every time he got on the ball.
