Begovic
Holgate, Keane, Mina, Digne (godfrey if Digne unfit)
Townsend, Allan, Doucoure, Gray
Iwobi
Rondon.

Subs, Gomes, Davies, Gordon (who should probably play at 10 instead of iwobi) and a bunch of others with hardly any experience.

Just typing it out to get it straight in my head. The back line and midfield are passable, but christ, our keeper and front line are dire.

I'd support the Gordon starting for Iwobi in this one and then flip that next week against Manure. I'd also agree that we really need some of the injured back. What happened to Gbamin again? Maybe Delph will put in his semi annual appearance against Norwich allowing Gray to play behind the striker.
Who cares....

Looking forward to this game. If they go at us, Norwich could easily come away with a point or three. This is going to be an interesting one. COYB!

Do you prefer Iwobi as a 9 to the unfit Salmon Roulade?

Hopefully Simms gets a start in this.
Rondon shouldn’t even be in the squad until he approaches the fitness required of a PL player, admittedly this could be several months away on current evidence.

I'm looking forward to this game because, I feel, it is the first pivotal game in the Senor Benitez era. Win and he has a superb start to the league campaign tucked into his jacket pocket along with his glasses. Lose and, I strongly sense, he will be firefighting between now and Christmas given our shallow squad and surfeit of injuries. So it's a biggie.

For what it's worth, I have little faith in the "squad" - as evinced once more in the latest capitulation to lower-league opposition - and am confident Norwich will leave with at least a point this weekend. If that proves to be the case, we are in choppy waters...

I would you as much experience as we have at back and drive and paced pressing on them so
begovic holgate Mina Keane digne (godfrey)
gray Allan doucoure townsend
simms dobbin
ideal game to get the young strikers going there pace will scare a poor Norwich side
