But surely this is exactly the wrong attitude to take.

What if we absolutely dominate, their keeper makes 17 saves and they score a scrappy offside handball goal? Will that mean our mentality has changed.

I don't get why things have to be so black or white all the time.

I do fear how we will react myself. I think you're underestimating the psychological blow yesterday.

It will be a good sign of progress if we play well and get 3 points. Any win here is a good win. I don't see us winning comfortably. 2-1 I'm hoping but I see a draw tbh.

Oh I've said myself Tim that the biggest thing is a reaction. But no, I'm not worried about a 'psychological blow', because I trust this manager and those players. They've done more to earn my trust in the past four months than any manager or players have in the past four seasons.

As you say, any win is a good win and I agree with you that I don't think it will be comfortable, although that is the wrong attitude as fans to take into the game really. We're in the top six for a reason. We're better than the other dross in this league apart from United. We're matching the better teams and had we taken our chances in every one of those away games we'd be looking at victories. Fine margins.

Tbh I think if anything it'll give the players encouragement knowing that Liverpool could only beat us with a flooky goal. This is a team who genuinely are title contenders and champions league finalists. We played like a team and went toe to toe, if anything that result will make the players push on to get results in spite of that result yesterday imo.

What if we don't batter them and get beat looking deflated and exhausting instead a buzz and vibe to our play like we seen for 90 odd minutes yesterday?

if we win Wednesday yesterday won't hurt as much is what im saying
it is most definitely a must win game

I agree with the principle, yeh. I'm just saying, it's not all one extreme to the other, and too large a proportion of our fans act that way, sometimes (sometimes!).

We must absolutely stuff these.

I'd be looking to give Lookman a hard earned start over Walcott who's been massively underwhelming for a good 6/7 games or so.

It was a must win game even before yesterday.

We need to be beating these kind of teams if we want to make the "top six" a "top seven".

Especially as United have a tough game the same night.

I am now very confident going into these next two games, yesterday notwithstanding.
