Not a good first half from us. Despite having the number two kicked out of him, James has been our best player and when he gets on the ball is when we look like we have any control on the game. Rest of the midfield need to show up

I actually think it's more down to these type of teams not fearing us.

Ref has let Newcastle off the hook a number of times too many. They've absolutely clogged James. How they've not had a card is beyond my understanding.

Having said that, we need to get a grip of this one. Newcastle are a team of carthorses and they need to be punched.

We’ve played some really slick attacking football this season, especially when James has been playing. Carlo favours defence first and we need more quality players but we do play good football when we play.

We do it for one half when the game calls for both halfs. We invite pressure. We don't put anyone to the sword.

Sadly we will have to fight fire with fire. Repeatedly go through Shelvey and Lascelles until they overreact, get them both second yellows.

Ref is giving them a message that they can carry on assaulting our player's ankles. Agree we need to do similar.
