Carlo’s reasoning was fine - Newcastle will sit deep, let us have the ball and we’ll have to break them down. Put as many ball players in the team as possible. Newcastle didn’t read the script though and have gone with a back four, pressed and tried to play when the do have the ball.

Don’t have the personnel to pressure them, win the ball back. Change it at half time.
