  • Everton have won just one of their past 20 Premier League games against Manchester City (drawn five, lost 14) and are winless in 12 against them since a 4-0 victory in January 2017.

A narrow defeat won't be too damaging as I feel we can go to Wolves this weekend and win the game. A draw would be a fantastic result tonight but anything to keep the GD healthy is a positive.
Wolves have beaten Spurs and Man City at home and only lost 2 home games so I rate the 2 games about the same, as City aren't in great form and we're at home. I'd certainly take 2 draws or a win and a loss.

A battling 2-2 draw for me.

Hopefully they travelled economy class back from wherever after winning some cup that no one gives a toss about.

I fear though dyche will set us up for damage limitation. And to make any free kick or corner count.

Puts on best Dyche accent and says "it's time to change the story, only we can change the story and ignore the outside noise. The fans are aligned with the players, the players are aligned with the club, the club is aligned with the pub and the pub is aligned with me. I've watched Never-ending story and even though this run feels like a never ending story, there's no big white fluffy puff the magic dragon to help us get from A to B, we've got to fly there ourselves, we've got to just shrug our shoulders, say we've missed our dragon flight, puff our chest out and get on with it and block the external stuff out. It's a bit like constipation, it's annoying but it happens to everyone and you just gotta squeeze it out (cough choke cough, wipe sweat from brow)

I fear The Dyches dream streak is over and today we see things going Back to usual Everton ways. I really hope they prove me wrong though.

I don`t 100% agree with Dave, my concern is that how losing to Fulham in the way we did, losing to Spurs and then losing to City will affect the great momentum we had built up, we pulled clear of the drop zone, what affect will it have on the players to find ourselves back in the zone?

I think and hope it is positive but you never know, just as we put this good run together this squad is also capable of putting a run together which saw us bottom after about 7 games at the start of the season.

That is my concern, we should get some points back, I think some are relying on this to form part of their opinion, that`s not a given and we need to carry on as if we aren`t.

  • Everton boss Sean Dyche has lost 12 of his 13 Premier League meetings with Man City’s Pep Guardiola, drawing once, including the past nine in a row by an aggregate score of 29-1. Before Guardiola joined the club, Dyche had been unbeaten against the Citizens in the top-flight (won one, drawn one).

Win this today or this could very easily turn into a slump that cements us in the relegation zone.

It's a tall order and we are very much odds on to lose, but if we're as good as our 26 points suggest this season we are capable of handing City a stiff test.

I like Harrison but he's not that good.
Harrison had a very good Dallas behind him at Leeds; or else he played as the left side of an attacking three with two behind him. Harrison here has had to put up with Young and Patterson providing a base to work from and he;;s had to do a lot of defending for those two inept players...and he's still positively impacted.

Even if we do get comfortably beat I'd hardly use that as evidence of a return to old ways, more just getting beat by literally the best team in the world.

I think we can make it awkward for them and if we have some bravery, can cause some problems. If not and we get beat, I really wouldn't be dwelling on it too much.
