Scheiderlin will do his job well enough as usual and get blamed because he isn't Patrick Vieira or something. The problems are so much more than him yet he just gets ripped apart on here weekly.

What is this ‘job’ that he does very well? I really don’t know what it is he does apart from miss tackles and get booked because he’s slow.

Scheiderlin isn't the reason we are rubbish, However he is a terrible side ways passing merchant who offers nothing midfield because he won't break his comfort zone of passing backwards/sideways and won't bust a gut to get forward.
He's a stinking coward.

In the right system he would be a very important player but we refuse to break this 4-2-3-1 hard on and that is not the best system for him. His sideways passing is actually very helpful in getting it to the fullbacks who can take it forward and if we played to this in a better way we could do well with it. Anyway not the time for this argument but the obsession with crapping on Schneiderlin is wholly misplaced.

He isn't carrying the ball forward himself because he's slow but he does a good job of getting it into wide areas where the ball carriers can push forward. He moves possession across the field better than anyone else we have. If the attacking play wasn't trash Schneiderlin would be great for us but his lack of penetration is more noticeable. Again I just don't think Schneiderlin is the issue. He isn't some amazing player but he's been pretty decent this year and the problems lie elsewhere.
