Just got back and where the hell do I start on that today.

I thought a draw would have been a fair result as we did not create loads, particularly after the equaliser, and they became more dangerous in the final 20 minutes.

I thought the injury to their goalie meant we lost a bit of momentum as there was a 4 minute delay and they had a chance to compose themselves rather than having to kick off immediately when the crowd was rabid after Beto scored.

Barry was woeful and should not play again as his attitude and ability don’t match his own perceived brilliance. McNeill put a really good cross in and he was nowhere near it having made a poor run.

Tyrique George was another passenger when he came on and switching Ndiaye allowed Jones to get a foothold in the game. Would not be signing him based on today’s performance.

Tarkowski had a poor game and Garner was not at his best and then we lost Branthwaite which was a massive blow.

Really annoyed that we did not put that sub goalie under any pressure in the last 40 minutes.

The ref was useless and how VVD,Jones,Slobbagozzyeye and Gakpo escaped a booking is beyond me.

Poor defending for their winner but nothing we haven’t seen before against them…I think we have conceded more last minutes to them than any other team.

So deflating to lose in that manner and then seeing some gloating Kopites in town put the top hat on it.

Up the Toffees.

Its not about the big decisions, its all about the ones that seem inconsequential. Pickford getting booked for raising an issue with the referee, Liverpool not for delaying a restart. Giving an offside for a player that hasn't touched, or attempted to touch a ball rather than the corner. No card for Isak after attempting to prevent Pickford from kicking it long. They kicked the ball at Ndiaye from their dead ball in an act of petulance, missed and it dropped to KDH. The ref lets them take it again.

Despite all this though, that was on us today. They were there for the taking and we failed to do so. If we had Lukaku or similar quality we'd have been 3 up at the half, but alas.

I forgot that Isak one that was such an obvious foul and booking but Kavanagh was looking the other way. Somebody really needs to call him out, take the fine and just insure he never referees an Everton game again.

We were absolutely brilliant for 30 minutes, played them off the park. Then they scored and we just went into our shell and that was it. We just let them dictate the play from then on and we didn't press the ball at all. They had their 3rd choice keeper go in net and we basically never tested him at all. Our mentality is just so poor in the big games especially against them lot. We didn't deserve to lose as they were so poor and I would be hugely concerned if I was them but I also didn't think we did enough to win either. Just frustrating. Same old, same old.

A few ramblings:
- Our supporters were immense today, that's what we need on a regular basis.
- It's great seeing some of our movement in midfield, the workrate and ability on the ball of players like Illy, KDH, Garner is refreshing.
- We definitely deserved something but the second they got that last corner I just knew it was going in our net. Those corners from the South East corner are a bloody jinx already.
- Chris Kavanagh is a 'kin coward when it comes to this lot, some of them seem unbookable to him.
- Don't really get the love for Beto in the vote. Yes, he scored, but his lack of finishing in the first half was atrocious once again, just a shame that his competition is at least as poor if not worse.
- What the actual f were Merseyside Police doing standing in the middle of the crowd on Regent Road, causing an obstruction as we walked out and past the away exit. They were actually contributing to the congestion themselves for no reason, thick as the proverbial mince.
- If we don't manage to grab a European place from where we've managed to get to now, I think Moyes' race might be run and that we need some new ideas to move us to the next stage.
- We're still in this, and the new stadium is feeling more like home.
- Van [Poor language removed] is a something pink that rhymes with punt.

Difference between us and them is that they can take their chances. We didn't deserve to lose today, did we deserve to win? Yes, maybe, but we need players to take the chances.
Although he scored later, the miss from Beto in the first half was a turning point. If he scores that, we win comfortably.
Obviously a shame because I don't think we will play a Liverpool side as poor as that for a long time.
