I think we need to work hard and keep it tight. If we can get the ball to James he’ll find the killer pass. This will be a massive test to see if we have turned the corner mentally. They will come out fighting after the Villa game.

You just know that he will resort to.something... So let's hope that the referee is up to scratch with "football methods" to put a stop to " the snide".
Hopefully the referee is up to being fair and can control this match. That in itself will (I believe) benefit Everton.............a poor refereeing performance will imo benefit them. I just hope that our good early season does not become unstuck on Saturday because of poor refereeing.
As much as it pains me to say it, they are still a quality team. We may lose next week, but as Carlo says we have to show our mettle when there are tough times. If we lose it’s vital we bounce straight back with a win. A loss won’t derail our season providing the players show the right spirit. That being said, it’s the first time in a long time I’m going into a derby thinking we’ll give them a good game.

Totally agree with what you say. But for this one game I just hope we leave nothing on the pitch. No hard luck stories. No Pickford mistakes. No missed chances. And no poor refereeing. (Although I might accept the odd decision in our favour). We are due one against them......
We turn up........then they will know that they have been in a game. So let's just hope that we turn up.........I have a feeling that we will. This season just feels different.........Up the Toffees....

James and Richarlison should be able to cause them even more problems than Jack did.

It has been many a year since we faced them with a side as well balanced as this current one.
Pickford is an issue, but that should not derail our ability to rip through any opposition in this league.
I like the fact reading the comments most are positive about our chances. Let’s keep it that way. We haven’t suddenly become better than them but we do have a team capable of matching and beating them in a one off game, especially at home. Forget our record v these, the past doesn’t matter. We just need to be able to put our best team out and do the things we have been doing really well without the ball, and punish them with it. Let’s hope we can put the team out that started the season, possibly with sigurdson in for Gomes on merit. 2-1 is my prediction, I also think it’s our turn to get the last minute winner.
