Just don’t let one game ruin our season like the Pickford derby did. Even if they beat us they ain’t going ahead of us. We’ve had games against them where we’ve ended up with someone having a three match ban, someone else crocked, and it’s elf to us losing momentum in the next few games also. Far worse Everton teams have drawn with far better Liverpool teams. If we can get our first team out, just play our game, and keep 11 on the pitch we have nothing to fear against them.

Doucoure was in Watfords team that beat them last season?

Allen and James couldnt care less who they are. Little things like that matter.

Frightening to think just a few months ago that was our first choice midfield. (When gomez’ leg fell off)

I think we need to probably win against Liverpool, and probably 1 or 2 more in honesty.

I don't buy this who have we played stuff though. Palace have won 2 from 4- or 2 of their other 3 apart from us and look a handful. Brighton look very well set up to play away and cause teams problems. West Brom are poor, like Leeds and Fulham promoted teams find it hard to keep goals out. Tottenham, people are backing to win the title and emerging as probably the best team behind Liverpool and City.

I mean there is 1 "gimme" game in there West Brom. No Newcastle, Leeds, Villa, Fulham, Burnley etc who you sense will probably end up towards the wrong end at the back end of the season.

And as you say, we have pretty comprehensively dispatched whats in front of us.

Up to Chelsea it feels quite good. Probably a good time to play United. Chelsea and Arsenal will be tricky. When do European games kick in? Fulham, Leeds, Burnley I can see us getting 9 points in.

I'm starting to wonder if the disruptions to pre-season have thrown off their doping cycle.

One game at a time, as always, it's pointless discussing this with internationals going on, we've been burned so many times before with a raft of injuries on international duty. The thing is, we can't look too far forward, a serious injury to james and our season is disrupted massively.

all the games are hard. Southampton away could end up being harder than Liverpool at home. Who knows we may have already won the hardest fixture of the season with Spurs away. Just need to go one game at a time. We shouldn’t be losing at home to anyone let alone Liverpool so let’s just play them like we did Spurs. If we lose, let’s just win the next one and keep on towards the target of top 4. We don’t have to be winning the league one week then losing it if Liverpool spawn a win against us. That said if we beat them we’re 100% going for an invincible season .

I think they stopped when lockdown hit last season. They’ll probably try and ramp back up the end of this season to coincide with the CL knockout stages. Hopefully they’ll have dropped enough league points by then and be out the cups. Us winning next weekend would help.

I can't believe I'm defending Liverpool here, but I think you're wrong on this one Catcher. The idea that Liverpool have been on the decline is very dangerous and could very easily lead to complacency. The Watford loss was their first in the League and came in March. Conceding 3 against Chelsea came at the end of the season in a game they still won. The two losses against Arsenal were actually a draw in the Charity shield and a league cup game in which they fielded their youth team. Atletico was the one big loss in there for me, and of course last weekend against Villa.

I agree that Liverpool's defence have looked very suspect this season with their high line against both Leeds and Villa. But I but that down partly to very good tactics and play from the opposition, but also poor pressing that left them exposed and I put that down to the midfield combination they played. If they play the same way and also bring in Thiago, I think they'll be playing into our hands (if we have a full team out). But, as I said, I think they'll change it because they wont want to lose this one.

I think bringing in Thiago may be a bit of a mistake as he is a bit of a Coutinho type player. Klopp will want to fit him in the team but it will take away from their pressing capabilities.

We'll see how he sets up against us. as I said, I think he'll either bring back the pressers in midfield, or will go more cautious as regards his defensive line, which will make them less of a threat up top.

Either way I think we'll sit back, soak up and break in numbers when we get the opportunity. Think it will be a close game.

I know it's not a fashionable view, but they've had plenty of lucky wins in the last year. They're not as good as people say they are.

My comfort blanket is that they are all very used to it. They will be whisked away onto private jets rapido, post match, and do nowt much till the game.

Godfrey can cover Mina but we have no one available to cover James or Richarlison.

Worst case scenario is they start from the bench and we can stay in the game until half time and bring them on 2nd half.
