Hopefully we will have a full-strength team available, that is a must.

My gut feeling is that the manner of their defeat at Villa is bad for us. It's hard to know how it will affect them, but you would imagine they'll being doing their utmost to atone for that, and no better opportunity than the derby. They may try to keep things tight, but may come out like a runaway train on the other hand.

I'd rather we came at them and went for it, not with abandon, but we have the players to damage them, this is a big opportunity for us and why not go for it properly, using our momentum and their shakiness.

I have given up calling these, but at minimum I want to see us playing with a bit of swagger, a lot of intent, and a lot of grit.

What a game for James to show he is the best player on that pitch. COYB.

If we play out from the back then we play straight into their hands...

If it's on then fair enough otherwise go long straight to Richarlison & DCL over their high line...

If we score first, I fancy us to beat these but we must be careful of their high press espeicially if Mane is playing...

Villa played the long ball time after time & got lots of chances from it, rarely did they play out from the back risking get chased down in dangerous positions...

And leeds. Sit back and flatter them and they still have it going forward. Get that high line turning and all of their defenders have shown they are not the best when actualy defending.

This lot will head into the derby mentally fragile. Klopp will have had virtually no time to work on the issues that saw them ripped to pieces at Villa, as the vast majority of their starting XI will be away until virtually the eve of the game.

They’ll no doubt arrive fired up and with a point to prove, BUT if get right into them early on and can score the first goal, all of the doubt and mental fragility will come to the fore and they could crumple like a cheap suit.

The pressure is all on them, this is literally a free shot for us, at a side who have been on the slide since the Atletico away game in Feb.

Yeah Allan rarely gets selected for BRA team, he's probably enjoying his free time in Chester

We can call this derby: Clash of the Titans - Pickford vs Adrian.

Agreed

A lot of people are worried that the loss to Villa will have them fired up, but I think too much time will have passed and they will all have had different things to focus on with their NTs. Kind of hard to switch it back to "oh yeah I remember that we are pissed about that last game"

The break actually helps us in this case rather than If we had face a group that had been sitting around for a week just trying to avenge that 7-2 loss

The media and the deludeds are trying to make out that Sunday was a freak, which in some ways it was, in terms of the final score, but the fact that they lost wasn’t. Their form since the first leg of the CL tie with Atletico in Feb has been average at best. Played 22, won 11 drawn 2, lost 9. They’ve also been shipping goals at the rate of 1.7 per game.

That side is now far from the imperious Wuuurrrrllld beaters that it’s made out to be, they’re on the slide.

I see your point and also agree with the post you replied to but make no mistake Klopp will have them in ‘ruining through prick wall’ mode. Once he has them all on Friday and sat morning. We just need to play with no fear and confidence that we should have. Everton in the passed have gone into derbies on good form and good few times above them in the table and bottled almost every one over the last 10 years.

But this Everton is different. Hopefully.

Impossible to guess what impact the weekend has for the derby. Liverpool are small favourites, especially if Henderson, Thiago and Mane returns.

At the same time, Allan, Coleman, Gomes and Richarlison returning for us, will really give Liverpool something to think about.

Make no mistake about it, winning the derby will be extremely difficult. The whole team needs to have a perfect match, and at the same time hope that VAR isn't involved in some kind if controversy.

Thankfully, with our great manager and the confidence running through the club, there's absolutely the possibility for a great result come 17. oct.

2-1 to the blues.
