Unless it's a semi final or final I always feel, if not confident, that we can beat them with a decent performance. There's been just enough draws and victories of late to underline that.

And when all is said and done, they are NOT a great Liverpool team, and this is at home after we took a point off them at their place.

I have this at 50/50.

......yep. Not a single tipster in the Racing Post goes for us, not even for a draw. Haven't seen that for a long while.

I was disappointed not to beat City a couple of weeks ago, if we can do that when we were playing just as bad then we can step it up here as well.

I've a calm about this one, usually I'm quite nervous or anxious about them ,but today I'm thinking the press,tv etc are putting all the pressure on the reds.
Our lads, the pressure in relative terms is off,and the players know it's time to beat them, last weeks 3 points is a boost which John Stones talked about, might be a bit of quiet determination within our ranks to win today.

My first derby (the 2-0 Cahill/Arteta) I was in the Main Stand just looking and listening to the Gwladys with awe!

In there today, kid at Christmas.

was there too boss the way Cahill + Arteta both scored
and there stil talked about the most favourite young uns have
seen in there life.. screamer teta's goal aswell

For those who haven't seen it...this is he Sky ad. Tune in for an audience with Steven Gerrard

omg that's even worse than i'd imagine. if the roles were reversed and that was done of me i'd cringe so so bad. i'd want it to be all about my team and have a sense of humbleness. i bet gerrard directed that haha

hope he leaves ala zidane in disgrace with a defeat.

They are chasing a CL place, they'll come for the win. If we play on the counter with the pace we have we'll cause them a few nightmares. The way Villa have played Liverpool at Anfield in recent seasons is the way to go here.

teams at the start of the season followed chelsea's example last season of how to play against them, liverpool were then doing terrible and everyone saw them as the bottom half team they were so then decided to go out and attack them and now they've started winning again with teams playing into their hands. sit back and counter them.

Liverpool always start at a very high tempo for the first 15 - 20 minutes.

Soak that up with no mistakes and the game becomes a lot more open.

Exactly. How can we feel any pressure when we're only "extras" in the slippy G show?

Pretty much what happens.

With Sturridge back they're going to go with two up with Coutinho in behind them. I think if you set up with bodies behind the ball and win it cheaply you can put real pressure on them. Gerrard is also going to want to roam forward for a goal and I expect Can or Lucas or whoever is holding to have a job on their hands and exposed a lot today. And, of course, we can get at their two full backs if they're chasing the game.

Get in to HT on equal terms and we can get at and punish these today.
