The fact that Lookman is staying wide means the play is stretched and either ge constantly finds space or there is more space in the middle. So simple.

Better sides than this contract the play and slow the pace, bringing them inside to cover the threat. Martina is shown up badly when that happens.

Lookman's strength has again been surprising though, and he can move into inside areas and excel due to his quick feet.

I worry he gives the ball away a bit too much for Koeman's liking and that might hinder his playing time. But the lad is dangerous. Hopefully Koeman keeps putting him in there.
That's what training is for. Lad is young and has immense talent.

I've no doubt he'll be a regular next year.

coming together nicely, shame rooney didn't put the game to bed there. People moan about pace, but you see the quickness klaassen lays balls off, siggurdsson's similar and rooney's precise, we'll be fine. Get in a bit more quality in the final 3rd and we're getting there.
Schniederlin's been brilliant, spraying it AOTS.

Intelligent movement beats pace everytime, because you get a yard head start. Pace is largely irrelevant compared to intelligence and technique.

Heard these tw*ts broke a few chairs. They better be paying us back! Mosh can't afford top quality transfers if he's spunking cash on repairing those wooden picnic chairs!

Excellent first half, every player is playing with confidence and the lads are beginning to understand each other. Klaassen and Rooney have been superb, Lookman and Martina playing really well together, Baines has lost about 6 years and Gana and Snides are just mopping everything up. The quality of our passing both long and short has been outstanding, a great match.......

Agree about Gana - he'll be very important on Monday night. I don't think Split have much of an attacking threat and reckon they'll park the bus, so it's about breaking them down rather than keeping them out. Tom Davies should play and I reckon we'll see something special if Davy plays and the rest have learned to anticipate his quick touches.
Looks like it's starting to happen. That touch to Bainsey was amazingly good. And how about that interception that led to Gana's goal?!

Right 2-0 up and battering them. Any fan of any other club would expect more of the same 2nd half and get 5 or 6.

Not me. I'm still nervous as hell, and was half hoping for the fans to break through and have the game abandonded 3-0 to us.... which is why every time nature calls I say "I'm going for a Martinez". The guy has actually traumatised me.
