as a lad, in the Xmas holidays i used to pick strawberries (6cents a pound)...I always had a Bovril tea before cycling to the patch to start picking at 6am. Good stuff...I could pick 400 pounds every 6 hour stint...that was a lot of money for a 12-13 yr old back in the 70s.
