Imo Pienaar & Osman are the best two at picking apart teams that park the bus. Barrkley is fantastic at running from deep as he showed so well at aresenal, but not sp good yet at clever passes to split a massed defence. Since Pienaar is out can see why Osman starts.

Not a Ossie basher myself but, in terms of the choice to drop Barkley after he was our best player last week is just a pathetic choice from Martinez

Ross is still young, Bobbys the man best placed to know how to use him as he sees fit at this stage of his career. I don't think he wants to be starting him every game....as was shown even when he was in his best form. Osman gets in because without Pienaar we need him basically for the way we play, and I think he prefers Ossie central when he plays him IMO

That means the two wide lads start either side of Osman.

You don't know why Ross is on the bench, and you dont have ten seasons of decisions like this from Bobby to back up criticism like calling it "pathetic". First season and all that. Give it time.

Occam's razor. He's probably picked up a knock in training or Roberto think playing him AND del together doesn't have the right balance.
