Thought this might come in useful for some.

Is that McCarthy and AIDS standing against treachery?

Shouldn't be just about fitness. Friendlies and pre-season is about implementing new strategies and tactics. We're not doing that at all. Didn't do it last pre-season and in turn our season was a joke.

We've won a game and sort of beaten Stoke this pre season. Does this mean we'll automatically be better in the proper season?

No of course it doesn't. Just as playing like a gang of idiots today doesn't mean we'll automatically be crap in the proper season.

Clueless without a playmaker like Pienaar.

There is no way we can go into this season without buying one. That, I'm sure, is what Martinez knows.

Didn't buy one last summer, didn't buy one in January, hadn't bought one yet this summer. Been obvious to most fans we've needed one for about three years. I wouldn't put any money on one coming in.

He's said he we need one this time. That's the difference.

Anyone else reckon Arsenal have treated this more like a proper league game, whereas we've treated it for what it really is, a preseason game?
