Real Madrid are still hoping to find a new club for James Rodriguez this summer and appear prepared to go low in their asking price for the Colombian wizard.

All of this will seemingly catch the attention of Everton, whose boss Carlo Ancelotti is a known fan of the 28-year-old.

MARCA is reporting that Real Madrid are now willing to slash the player’s asking price. After previously wanting a figure in the region of €40 million (£36m), they could now accept an offer as low as €20 million (£18m).

Considering James cost Real Madrid a reported (Telegraph) £63 million when signed in 2014, it can only be seen as a bargain.

The Spanish giants do not want to lose James for free when his contract expires in a year and the report claims that Everton are his ‘maximum supporter’ regarding a transfer swoop from England.

The report also claims that James is understanding that he will need to take a pay cut from his current Bernabeu wages in order to find himself a new team.

Ancelotti has worked with the Colombian at both Real and Bayern Munich. The Italian even wanted him at previous club Napoli, as reported by Football Italia, the Everton coach admitted still being ‘very attached’ to the one time World Cup star.

With Everton likely to want top-level recruits this summer to help the club find their way back into Europe, £18 million for James Rodriguez might be too hard to resist.

Read a story earlier of us being offered James for £18m (€20m), in a 442 I'm not sure where we would play him, possibly RM, as long as the wages are not insane, I think this could be a decent buy for us
Reece James? Has to be seen as the future right back then if he’s brought in.

edit: See you’re talking about the Colombian now.

It's being reported in Spanish by Marca and on a website called the boot room, not sure if it's banned on here, here's the link

Marca is classed as Tier 4.

Tier 4 – Not to be trusted at all. These companies make money out of ensuring that you read them and they will make up anything to get you to harness advertising revenue.

We'd probably play him in the treatment room, like Real generally have

He’s clearly not overly popular on here but I do like him. Think he’s got a lot of attributes we currently lack. Need another midfielder even if he’s brought in though.

We've needed actual ball playing midfielders for years. Id rather have a solid group of midfielders who put the graft in, don't hide, and want the ball week in week out than just having 1 very good midfielder.

The entire RS midfield is full of solid grafters turned into world beaters.
