You have to imagine some players will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing in the team now after the bright showing yesterday. Carry on and you get a higher quality of player now looking at us with genuine interest.

saying to a Zaha (just using him as an example as we were linked last year as well as this year) 'yeah come here you can link up with Tom Davies' to now being able to say to him 'Come here and you can link up with James Rodriguez'. for any player watching us Sunday, especially attack minded players they would have been excited at that prospect. Allan and Doucoure doing the leg work and James supplying that bit of magic.

That Doherty one was just a piece of brilliance by Kane. Timori or even Van Dyke couldn't have stopped that happening. Sometimes you just have to say nice one to the attacking side. It's a play I'm hoping to see James do for us this season

Kane's little chip into the path of Doherty was similar to some of James' assists in that video we both commented on a few weeks ago. Think clever movement ahead of him he will be putting it on a plate for our attackers.
And regarding Gomes, think being in a secure midfield with more defensive minded players shows how he can spring the ball forward, looked stronger when he was shoulder to shoulder with players too.

...be interesting to see how some of the fringe players perform with the new intake. We saw an improved Gomes yesterday.

Looked a little sexy Gomes an Rodriguez spraying the ball all around the pitch yesterday didn't it. Even prompted their manager to accuse his own team of being lazy in the press. Our passing throughout the whole team was sharp and at times sublime.
