Wouldnt mind Marshall or the burnley keeper Heaton I think?
Both not to costly and look better than what we have at present.

Dont expect to get anybody in tho

I don't see a new keeper coming in January. Seems to go against everything Martinez has done in Januaries past. We'll sign a first team outfield player, probably on a loan. As much as we need a better pair of gloves, I think Martinez values continuity and with the amount of disruption injuries have caused our defense this season, it would be out of character for him to throw another new face into defense.

Why are we after Sam Byram anyways? I mean, he's a pretty decent young and versatile player, but surely both right wing and right back positions are covered now with Deulofeu and Coleman and I've no idea where he could fit. Paying 8 mil for someone who's gonna sit on the bench is not the best idea either, is it...

I'm more worried about how it will impact Kennys future as really the next season or two you'd hope to see him progressing into the first team squad in a similar way that Galloway has done, bringing a highly touted and more developed player in you'd have to think will delay that

Was thinking the same thing, 8m on a back up RB? He's also 22 now so it's not like he's going to sit on the bench for a couple of seasons for his development.

An injury to Coleman leaves us with Browning to cover RB. He's done well but he's certainly not ready for that. Besides, he's injured.

I believe Bryam's contract runs out at the end of this season. £8m would be quite a lot for him all things considered, but we do need someone to cover for Coleman and challenge him for his spot.

Priority has to be goalkeeper though but we all know Martinez won't do squat there.

Very few youngsters are able to play premiership football before they are twenty or twenty one years old. Up to that time they are gradually being introduced a few games at a time.
Even Barkley who is a real powerhouse in build is only now feeling fully comfortable as a premiership player.

I think we may be expecting too much of our academy youngsters too soon.

We also have Holgate who would likely be RB in the short term.

No-one's managed to answer me this though. If Byram is so good then why doesnt he have any u21 caps? Or even u19 etc...ive found on the net that he was called up to the u21 squad but didnt play.

He's been rated really highly for 3 years+ but not a single cap...thats odd. There also havent been any confirmed bids for him either...ever.

Rated as "the new bale" and could be a good signing as a specialist RB / RM. If hes that good could also push coleman and ease out lennon.

We dont need a "wunderkind" here as we have Coleman and Deulofeu but if hes a good player then we'd get 10 years out of him and he has alot of experience with Leeds already.

Cant get past the lack of england youth caps.

Dnipro defender Douglas is up for 8m euros. Quality defender, think he'd be a really good addition and he's an absolute steal for that price. Thoughts?

Yeah I understand the whole thing with the England caps. Who knows. Why was Galloway constantly overlooked for England U21s? I wouldn't read too much into it. England squads are funny things with fickle managers.

Think Galloway has come through from u19s and is still only 19 of course.

But Byram was well known and getting games over several seasons. Just seems odd.
