It's football and it happens with players at times

Moyes said he wasn't good enough either....

I think we should be going for David Ospina. Surely after a year of sitting on the pine for Arsenal he would be willing to jump ship now. He is a brick wall for Colombia. A great shot stopper

I'd be very happy with this. Even Szeczeny would do for me. Instil a bit of discipline in him and he'll be a great keeper.

My take on Strootman.

Given that he made his debut for my "2nd team " Sparta Rotterdam I have always taken a keen interest in him.

It was immeditely clear that he was going to be a fine combative box to box midfielder and sadly set for better things than Sparta.

He enhanced his reputation in the Netherlands before moving to Italy.

At his best he was like Bryan Robson but with a better passing range and perhaps not quite the same eye for goal.

However his injury record has been catastrophic and there must be doubts wether he can play to anything like the same level as before.

It is always hard for any foreign player to adjust to the pace and intensity of the English game , especially in central midfield but for someone with such a bad injury ?

Pre injury his value would have been £30 million + and would have been regarded as a sensational signing.

Now ? I just don't know.

Any signing other than on the basis of loan with a view to purchase will surely be reckless.
