Lads as this is the Forum I now use I would like to say how proud I am to share the same team as the the thousands of other supporters who made there way to the Benfica game from RossioSquare to the stadium the whole trip was running great until the second half ,at least the support done their job.And I have to admit I thought that was a kite but i do only have one eye working at the moment. :(:(

Shame Moyes didn't feel that the team did not give the fans the performance they deserved.

What team would you have played?

That team did not give it's all.

Fellaini was at fault for 2 of the goals because he looked like he couldn't be arsed.

Cahill was about as useful as a screendoor in a submarine.

Jo was [Poor language removed], and did nothing to help the cause.

Whenever we got into positions where we could have created chances we never put in a telling cross.

Please show Fellaini a ****** ball. It's the ball he's supposed to hit. Not the opponents legs one time after another. What a tug!!!

The team did give it's all.

We where beaten because we defended poorly and when we did get into good positions (offensively) we failed to hurt Benfica.

Nothing to do with lack of effort or workrate, our patched up B team was simply outclassed by a good team.

Oh HELL NO !!!

Don't let a logical statement like that get in the way of some seriously good rants on here.

We should have stomped Benfica with that squad and there should be no excuses. None.

Some guys underestimate other championships.I had told that those bastards were playing really well and they have classy players in their ranks.

I dont know what some poeple expect to be honest, I really dont, they keep dismissing the missing players as if its nothing.

I wonder if Moyes was starting to look at some of Benfica's players as potential targets, perhaps di Maria?

Still that should be no excuse to Fellaini or Cahill.

They showed no comitment or, worse, no class at all. Cahill is the soul of this team and he was unrecognizable. Fellaini, for what he cost and for his reputation, should excell in european matches. The pace of the game is slower, just like the belgian league. No excuse for that leg kicking contest he seemed willing to promote.

On the night we had a depleted team out there and we totally outplayed for large parts of the game. They are a classy outfit full of attacking flair but they dont travel well.

So I reckon we will come away, lick our wounds and learn from this experience, and they will face a entirely different proposition in 2weeks time. I reckon we will do them at GP, beat Bate, and draw away in Athens and top the group.

Whats the issue? minor hitch, thats all. You cant take a pop at Moysey given the situation with injuries, and players unavailable. I know people will point the finger at Fellaini and Cahill, but they're only human, and our midfield was totally outplayed. They were firefightin for most of the second half.
