Well that's the thing with Ramsey, he doesn't stink when he's healthy.
His quality isn't in doubt the various other things that come with the signing are worrying. JRodz Allan and Doucoure and others are enough over 28+ year old players.

I get all that but what I'm saying is why weren't we doing this with Allan?

I think a midfielder that doesn’t score or assist and who’s passing was ok at best, is slightly different to saying a left back doesn’t score headers.

He was a good player. I was replying to a poster who said he was top class at everything, which is utter rubbish. I don’t think there’s a midfielder on the planet who’s top class at everything.

Is it though? Baines/Digne would often be playing further forward than Gueye. He would step in for them when they went forward too more often than not.

As for a midfielder who can do everything, I think you are forgetting about Fabian Delph...

Ramsey was a good player but his injury record is bad and he isn't what we need now by a long chalk as has been said hungry emerging players with pace and physicality.

Have you ever heard of this Jean-Phillipe Gbamin?

Honestly, that is exactly what he was suppose to be, but this is Everton so of course his leg fell off.

We really need to buy Gbamin's replacement this summer. Allan and Davies can deputize at the 6 but bother are better as 8's. We also need a creative #8/10. Two first team midfield signings is key. Delph and Gomes need to go.
Yes sadly he hasn't played in two seasons we can't rely on him. As you say we need two arguably.

When we signed Allan his injury record over the past 3 seasons was on average 25 days per year... Ramseys is 147!
When we signed Allan we offered him what.. £70k a week, Ramsay is currently on £300k+
We paid £22m for a midfielder the boss knew and trusted, on average wages, who had a decent reputation and a decent injury record.
But you want to compare him against us signing Ramsay a year older for whatever money/loan to pay id guess at least half his current wages, to more than likely be fit half a season, when we already have a huge wage on the treatment table each week?

Not being funny but Everton is a long standing professional organisation. I am no expert in the transfer market but that is understandable as it is not my profession. But you would hope that Everton and the people that work there do have some expertise so how difficult can it be to find better players than we already have? Half the time when they do buy a player the majority of the supporters ask themselves “Why would you buy them???”, and often the signing does not work out. It is a bit of a mystery what goes through their heads sometimes especially when you consider the financial commitment they are making

Maybe everyone involved is like someone's nephew or niece and are actually completely useless at their jobs just have a suitable surname.

Yep I have come across many like that during my life. Let’s just hope they get it right this summer even if it is by a fluke
