The right back position side needs sorting. It’s so glaringly obvious.

If Bernard leaves, then there will be space for a forward.
A decision will have to be taken on King. If he leaves he will also have to be replaced.
i cannot see us doing business beyond that without. I’m sure like everyone else we will be looking at loans and frees. I’m guessing the first choice RB will be a purchase, Olsen will be bought (although I am unsure on him), and King will get a three year contract. We may have Funds to buy a replacement for Bernard, but well have to see wha5 impact COVID ha# had on that.

but we then spend over 60mil I always believed Moshiri would find a way to back ancelotti and will again next season. You don’t hire someone like that and don’t back him, especially when you see the job he’s doing. So basically you think we will just add a RB to this squad next season? Because Olsen & king are already here. That’s not good enough, no chance
FFP who’s knows what’s happening with that, hopefully we can raise some money by selling a few players, kean the main one that could help with funds. Also the wage bill should drop by quite a bit. And it always seemed to be that it was the wage bill was the big issue.
Personally Olsen & Pickford aren’t good enough. Olsen as back maybe, but I think ancelotti wants a top class keeper. RB 100% a midfielder is also required IMO. Maybe we sell delph, Gomes? Siggurdsson. I know people will say no chance on the back of a few good performances, but we need to look at the bigger picture. Iwobi is another who could go I’d we got a decent fee.
If we add king. we will also need another attacker. So for me we need maybe 4. And maybe king and Olsen. I suppose if we got money for Bernard and iwobi and kean And then got king fir 5mil, it would give us plenty to buy a quality attacker.

I don't really see the reasoning behind not bringing back Olsen and having Pickford as backup. I know it'll be hard to move Pickford on and having 3 GKs plus a young player is bad but from a perspective of making the squad the strongest you can't really go for Pickford right now.
I agree with most the rest although I'd imagine we will only bring one RB in so either Coleman will backup or Godfrey and Holgate will platoon in that position. I'd be behind Gordon being a part of the squad but that depends on how he gets on at Preston.

I just feel neither Pickford or Olsen are good enough to be first choice and can't see us being able to get rid of Pickford. Virginia is nailed on as 3rd choice and ultimately Olsen doesn't want to come here to be battling for a place on tge bench with Pickford.
I think we will probably end up keeping Coleman as right back cover and Sigurdsson will be kept as a 7th midfield option.
I wanted to keep Gordon but I think he needs regular games. The same with Branthwaite but would need Iwobi to leave and again I think we are stuck with him. Branthwaite we could sell one of the centre backs but I'm inclined to keep them all as they all offer something different.

Virginia has proven nothing as far as even being 3rd choice imo. I wouldn't factor him into decisions really.
Agreed on Gordon but at the end of his loan we need to reevaluate whether we should give him games.

3rd choice keeper needs to be a young player in my view. They tried having Pickford/Olsen/Lossl and it was deemed untenable. He is also classed as club trained and 4 of the 25 man European squad needs to be club trained and the only other player that meets this criteria is Davies. All these things need taken into account.

For me Virignia is a u23 still so even if he is technically 3rd choice I don't think he factors into the thinking much.

I can't see us agreeing on this one. I think we need one new goalkeeper and either Pickford or Olsen you think we need a new goalkeeper and both. My preference would be to move Pickford on and have Olsen as back up but I know we would price him out the market. Virginia will have to be registered to be available for first team games next season. He is ideal as a 3rd choice as he can get game time in u23s but be ready to fill in if needed in the first team squad.
Hmm, thats quite interesting.
If we got CL next season we would be in theory be naming a 22 player CL squad.

I think we might. I've just checked and I don't think Virginia joined us soon enough. Its 36 months including the season they turned 21 so he will miss out the same way that Holgate misses out.
Yeah, I had a quick look myself, we have nobody else, that I can see.
