Koulibaly was linked with every big team going over the last few years but Napoli refused to sell. Could well be a different situation now, suppose time will tell.

I would be a bit surprised if we spent major money on a 30 year old but I guess if we could get 2 or 3 years out of him at an elite level and he helped develop the younger CBs in the squad it would make sense. If he’s available at a knock down price there will be more teams than us after him though.

If the €39m figure is correct it's a no brainer. He just turned 30. He's got 3 or 4 seasons top of his game and prob another 2 or 3 at a lesser decent level. CBs can go til they're abit older like keepers imo.

Why would we spend 35m for someone to watch Calvert-Lewin play?

Our two just turned 30 signings this year have really struggled to stay fit

There's not many midtable clubs paying £100k a week to goalkeepers though. And there's not many clubs who'd be stupid enough to pay a big transfer fee for a player who we'd be desperate to get off the wage bill.

Our hope is that he has a good Euros. I can see someone loaning him if he does. Hes actually quite well recently.

Same principle as Meret coming as GK pushing Pickford up a notch.

Belotti doesn't push DCL and we shouldn't be signing a GK to push Pickford we should be replacing him.

Yes all very fair. And hes played well on the odd occasion hes played centre back.

He may well keep Holgate as a utility player. Can cover 3 or 4 positions well.

If someone gives us 30m for Mina we may sell, but would imagine Carlo would ideally want to keep him.
