Of course we can turn it down. If we were desperate for the money him or DCL wouid have gone already.
We will have plenty after a few of our players next summer if we need to sell and re-group. No way we do this late, would basically kill our season
I think there’s a difference between being desperate for the money - needing to sell to allow the club to continue trading, pay wages etc - and recognising when a bid you perhaps weren’t expecting is too good to turn down.
Also we know players have power these days. If we get a big bid, turn it down and end up with a sulky cryarse on our hands then we lose doubly.
Small sample size, admittedly, but we seem to have spent what little we had shrewdly so far. Just have to hope we can do the same with the Richy wedge if it comes in.
