Brighton & Brentford over the last few seasons have proved they have a solid foundation and the right people in the right places, they have also shown they will sell when the player is ready for the next step.

If i was a footballer being touted by several football clubs, everton would be one of my last options, viewing what a basket case they have been

Thats very true, but there is a generation of players that have grown up with Lampard as their footballing idol. No matter how small a thing it seems it will appeal to some to play under him

It may well come down to £’s to be honest

I'd say Lampard is a step up on Benitez for attracting players anyway. Assuming we play in the prem of course.

From our last batch I prefer the Myko and Patterson types to the 'can't get in other teams' types like Beek, Ali and Ghazi. Still, I guess two of those were loans.

We should stop imagining we can rehabilitate players - that was a Moyes trick and he's gone. Even then, it didn't work with Van De Meyde and Drenthe and doesn't seem to be working with Alli either.

I've seen people complaining about signing players that use us as a stepping stone - but to me that is fine as they need to perform to get a move.
