I understand @Connor and other poster's reservations on Gueye. It really will punch a huge hole in the club's image as standing for things that matter...hot on the heels of the gambling sponsorship u-turn.

We desperately need a holding midfielder in though, and if we cant get one of Gueye's quality we may as well take it on the chin and take him.

Agree that it won't do much for the clubs image by bringing him back.

He started 20 league games (missed over a month because of the AFCON) and 7 champions league games for PSG. None of our current midfielders are anywhere near being at the level of PSG so he improves us massively.

We will probably activate the extension of his contract for 1 more year. And Gana is older than Doucoure . I dont think we are signing a younger replacement for Doucoure.

I wasn't comparing him to Gana just that it is a good time to get shut.
