It is fairly clear that despite the squad size being ok, and the huge amounts of money spent assembling it, that we have a bottom 5 squad.

Staying up with no additions would be a massive achievement.

2 central midfielders, an attacker and some creativity are desperately required. If that is loan players then fine but we need starters.

If we are so strapped for cash why do we insist on shopping in the ludicrously overpriced PL? Seems like a stupid MO.

Can’t say I watch a lot of football outside of England anymore, but there must be players of better value than Cornet (£17m), Gibbs-White (£25m+), Broja (£30m+) etc that we should be targeting

All of them not very good

That midfield will relegate us, it’s that simple. They’re all still here though, bloating our squad, on big wages and contributing nowhere near enough in return.

Two weeks to go to the start of the season and we are massively weakened in comparison to even the relegation fighting outfit we finished last season with.

Even if we got 4/5 additions to the squad now with no more serious weakening of it we will struggle to blend a first team until the second month of the season.

IMO we're already one of the favourites to go down due to the summer inactivity and sale of Richarlison.

Lampard really should be issuing public ultimatums now. It's that serious.
