To be fair to the club, I think it was more complex than that: there was talk of not wanting to antagonise Burnley; we're now on to a new accounting year.

I think we're being far more prudent in terms of who we sign and when. Part of me feel that we'll leave signings later in the window to save on wages!
We play 5 games before the window closes that could be a huge risk.

We need them as early as possible as i think there will be a lot of changes, not so bad if we were just adding one or two players but i can see 4-5 coming in.

I don’t get the hype for this Dennis from Watford, read it a lot the last few days on social media, looks to me like another average player with a arrogant vibe. Had enough of dross like that here that are overhyped and don’t perform.

Just think there was a time, however brief, Everton were regarded as one of the top clubs. It’s garbage seeing how it’s turned out and crap like Dennis considered good signings and that we will be “fine”. What does fine entail exactly? Just existing like we have been for years? For Christ sake.

The problem is that we need to sell before we can buy, still.

So other clubs will wait.

I'm not disagreeing with any of your points. In fact, I'd much rather we were getting players in as soon as possible so they can train together, gel and win games.

It doesn't change my point however that I can see the club being more savvy. If the club can save cumulatively save a few months wages, they may do that.

Very true.

We have got ourselves in a right pickle haven't we.
We might have to let players go under the price we want just so we can do business. Lets say we want 15m for MIna and someone offers 10-12m is it worth waiting until the end of the window to get that other 3mil? and we still might not get it

Either way its sad state were in.

They may well do mate, but one Mina or Gomes sale free us up 2 loan signings in wages.

What hype? Most people don't want him
