If this sale, or Dobbin plus another smaller sale gets us to PSR compliance this month, then I think it's much more likely Onana is the player sold to boost funds. And not Branthwaite.

Or at the very least, we stick a huge price tag on JB of like 70 or 75m, tell United we don't need to sell and to leave us alone until they want to offer that amount.

Was it Barca & Juve that done the same a few years ago , Arthur Melo for a vastly inflated fee plus Pjanic going the other way.

Remember at the time Uefa were looking at banning this type of deal.

Anyway , who cares if it balances the books.

Wasnt that more to do with the over inflated values as you say. They can hardly kick off over 2 £10m players swapping. Both have appearances in the PL and that value isnt excessive when you think we sold a 16 year old LB to Chelsea for £5m.

The PL have pushed teams into this corner. Can see Newcastle trying the same somewhere, Chelsea and Villa supposedly doing the same too.

The fees are vastly different, but the principles are the same
But needs must.
