I happen to think he's an ok journo

Dont know about Journo , but I didnt find him over-endearing .
I met Paddy Shennan and Mike from the Post at Ballys Funeral . They were diamonds , both .
Then , last year me Nan died and I had to get in touch with the Echo for something - The Sports bit .
The Liverpool " desk " were superb , put me onto him , and , well , he was less than up to standard .
Then , when the Golden Vision was here , I got to meet him , and wanted a copy of an old picture .
Again , the Red lads put me onto Dom King , and again he just blanked me . No picture .
Take as you find , I say .

Natural left-sided midfielder, which is something we've been without for a long time. I guess Pienaar would switch to the right if they would both be starting, although I've seen Ledley play more central for club and country and look OK.
I don't want Pienaar to be moved from left side, him and Baines links up too well to be breaked up, we should play to our strengths, not canceling it.

I agree 100%. If we do sign Ledley it'll probably be for depth and I think Moyes will play him in a more central role. depth for the LW and CM thats what makes the most sense for me.

If you ask me I would go for Adam Johnson instead. He got pace and he can play on both wings, that sounds i little bit more like what we need.

He's a fairly clever footballer from what I can tell. He's aware of his limitations (mainly a lack of pace) so he doesn't try to take on fullbacks too often. Works hard tracking back as well, so he'll fit in with our style.

I was hoping for a fast, skillful winger who could run at people, but they don't exist for less than £20m I guess. Ledley can be a decent signing for us, anyway.

I hope not - look at how well he links up with LB!

Subs write headlines, not reporters, Nick. And to be fair to Mr King (I don't really have an opinion on him one way or another) his colleagues on the sports pages of the nationals are equally as bad about the shill stories, use of quotes and protecting access.

The best football reporter in the country (for me at least) is a German and that's because he can write and is funny and informative with it.

Back to Ledley, being slow-ish and kind of midfield-y seems to suit Moyes. At least he's not 5'0" in his socks. I'm not going to complain if he wants him with his track record in midfield so far (my mind has wiped Simon Davies from its brain cells).

Actually, I think he'd fit in with our style of play now

3-4M seems like a decent price. He seems to have abliity to create and score nifty goals all by himself despite not having pace. Does that make him a midfield version of McFadden?? Which may or may not be a bad thing considering we sold McFadden for more than we paid for him.

If we are going w/ a left sided player for the 4M range I'd take Hunt any day of the week over him though. I guess if depends on what Moyes wants, to get a player who may be the good 3-4 from now or work on improving now.

It would be nice if Pinnear/Gosling could be effective right sided players and so we could get either of the two.
