Gushing here.
..it’s why loyalty goes out of the window from both a player and selling club perspective.
The figures only matter if he fails to produce on the pitch.
..you have to wonder if Baines is prepared to be back up. I know he’s on big bucks, but if Tierney happens I can see Baines moving in this window for first team football and a 3 year contract elsewhere.

Im asuming they mean its a rising wage on his current ability and factoring in enough money to dislodge him from celtic I'd say 85k is probably a ball park figure. the rising to 145k over 5 years is hugely risky if he flops butHaha people believe this guff. There is no way on this planet we're signing a 21 year old left back on 85k a week rising to 145k a week.
What happened to trimming the wage bill ffs
Its not.
I'd love nothing more for this to happen just to shut the Celts right up. Every single one of them scoffing at the idea of him wanting to move to us.

Would be a brilliant signing if right, £18m upfront in todays market is a great deal.
Not bothered about the wage, he won't earn the upper levels of that until later in the contract (or a renewal), we have worse players on similar or more....
That wouldnt be the worst solution in the world, question mark over what Robinson may consider also, Tierney is only a year older than robinson so would robinson be prepared to play understudy for someone who could be ahead of him progressing.
