It's no wonder Whelan think Martinez is a God! In the interview of his that I saw in telly he made sure not to disrespect us whilst basically saying he thinks Martinez is good enough to manage Barcelona or similar. Fine by me tbh.

Actually before Martinez they played some decent stuff for periods, especially year Valencia blew up. One season under Bruce they had a decent shot at UEFA football and were 8th-9th before the squad was ripped apart in the Jan transfer window.

Of managers who would come to us, Martinez would be my 1st choise. Players like McManahon, Maloney and N'Zogbia have gotten better with him in charge (and in N'Zogbia's case invisible w/o him). He's also a class guy in a profession with too many Rednapps and Hughes.
 
From Wigans perspective everything higher than them will be bigger than them.
 
One of the mega-clubs will not go for Martinez as Wigan will be relegated - the league is the yardstick. Only a miracle can save Wigan. It isn't going to happen.
 

Saw interview with Whelan on SSN on Sunday, he said he loves going to Goodison, the people there 'are like Liverpudlians only they're Evertonians'. What a knob...
