Everton: loyal to the lucre?

Really? We are debating whether Bill would move aside if a takeover came forward aren't we?

Deflect all you want on this issue mate
. Bill and his glove puppet Woods refused Gregg permission to carry his plan forwards and then came up with the FSF/Samuelson "deal" - or as it's also known, the *Oh, look over there everyone* great distraction caper of 2004.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

It comes to something when you are advocating Greggs reverse mortgage proposal. Kenwright blocked Greggs "his plan" by conjuring up a distraction? Heard it all now.

http://www.toffeeweb.com/club/business/boardroom.asp

He took a key role in pushing forward the Kings Dock project as a major business enterprise, only to see it fail because (as many claimed) he was unprepared to underwrite the project to the tune of £30M, coming up instead with a "reverse mortgage" deal that had many convinced he was somehow set to double-cross the Club out of millions in a cunning financial scam that was ultimately rejected by the Everton Board. Evertonians, annoyed by the thought of Paul Gregg's mega-millions not being put to good use in the interests of their club, turned on him en masse, believing he was only in it for the money, and had no intrinsic love for Everton (duh!).

Nice one mate!

^^^^^ This creature owns thousands of Everton shares. Comforting isn't it.

Tellin' ya mate. The forum would be dead and buried if it wasn't for Neilers exclusive "nailed on" things.

The lad's commitment to bring the past to the present is noteworthy: witness his Owen will get you 20 goals a season catchphrase - clearly it belongs to 2002, but he was determined to dust it down and use it again in 2009. That's dedication.

Proper loling here.

Good Lord mate, you're well off beam. Reverse mortgage for KD and Gregg's mooted takeover two distinct things. Keep up kidda. (y)

Be more specific then on what you are referring to, rather than just "his plan".

And to be fair, the reverse mortgage set the agenda. It wasn't just Bill who didn't like him;

Evertonians, annoyed by the thought of Paul Gregg's mega-millions not being put to good use in the interests of their club, turned on him en masse, believing he was only in it for the money,
Anyway, I will leave it with this;

So there's two possibilities here: either these people wouldn't want to buy Everton (because they are likely to only get ~80% of the ownership), or they would be happy with a majority shareholding (which would, after all, allow them to run the club how they see fit). If the latter is true, buying Woods, Grantchester and Earl's shares would be enough.

But you want it both ways. You want buyers to exist, AND you want Kenwright to the the only reason holding them back.

Dave, he knows it. He's probably right as well. Owen will get 20 goals for United :lol: The worlds best players teeing him up every game......

Goat/Dave/Neiler...just - :lol:

Thanks for a good thread ;)

Except that a new owner can't demand 100%, for the legal reasons explained above.

So whats the option then? We are stuck with the current board forever? Because in your world its not possible for anybody to buy the Club.

There are buyers out there. Maybe the current owners dont wish to sell? Maybe they are asking for too much money?

The way some of you stick up for Bill is shocking, the man has lied, lied and then lied. He has saddled the Club with huge debts. He is the figure head. Whether he owns 1% or 3000% shares, he IS the chairman. So surely the shabby way the club has been run is down to him?

But its ok, because he sat in the boys pen.

Hes an utterly crap chairman. Thats my viewpoint on him. Nothing anybody will say will change that.
